Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Green with wins in the last few weeks over New Boston big and wins at Western, Clay, Manchester, and a nice home win over Symmes Valley should give Green the 6 seed and although they host Eastern Friday I doubt the outcome of that game will alter the seed assuming Eastern beats Green.
Re: Valley D-4 sectional
It's hard for me to pick Webster over Notre Dame . There mutual opponents are Minford and East. Nd beat east 2 times one of those was at East where Webster lost and the other ND lost at Minford Webster beat Minford by 13 at Webster. So they are pretty even in my mind best record decides the #1. But after these two is where it gets interesting . I honestly beleave White Oak and Fairfield are the next best 2 teams and like Webster there league is very good. Now the SOC is much improved with 4 teams above .500 but a lot of those win come from the bottom of there league. Notre Dames best out of league win is White Oak to start the season and a win over Eastern at Eastern. East only good win period is over Webster at East. Webster is 3-4 against teams with a record better than .500. On paper this is a very tight sectional. But I feel that Notre Dame is the best team in the sectional they are deep have size good guard play and play excellent deffence .
Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Still bitter.
The other side has Eastern Pike (who many of us feel is the best D4 team)....but Valley has the 2nd-6th best teams.

You may be right if so the first round of the district will take care of it.
Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Yeah....but it won't be 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5Fred G. Sanford wrote:Ironman92 wrote:Still bitter.

It'll be something like 1 vs 4, 2 vs 9, 3 vs 7, 6 vs 8....we'll see
Re: Valley D-4 sectional
I think your right Ironman . There are very, very good teams in the Valley sectional. You could argue the #5 there would be #2 at Meigs. Eastern better be ready if there going to try to match last years run. Who ever makes it to the Elite 8 is going to have a heck of a road getting there !!!
Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Well some will have it easier but to get to the regionals someone will have to knock off Eastern Pike and Notre Dame.lightle04 wrote:I think your right Ironman . Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Agree....but IMO 2 of the other teams could knock off EP on a given night and about 4 teams can knock off ND....on a given night.lightle04 wrote:I'm bias as heck but I think these are the 2 best D-4 teams in the region.

IMO I think Eastern Pike, South Webster and Fairfield are the three best teams out of the Valley and Meigs bracket.
Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Fairfield is a very dangerous team. Watched them several times this summer and there isn't a team they can't beat.
Re: Valley D-4 sectional
i think fairfield is missing a good player who played with them in the summer.

Green will get the 5 if the SOC sticks together in voting....happens quite often.

Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Green getting a 5 ahead of Fairfield is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. But sadly your right, you never know what to expect. But I'm sure Green doesnt want the 5 because that would mean they have to play Whiteoak. I seriously doubt they would rather play Whiteoak than East.NewEra wrote:Green will get the 5 if the SOC sticks together in voting....happens quite often.

Re: Valley D-4 sectional
Not sure on the record. But anything could happen I guess. a 3-6 match up of Fairfield and East and a 4-5 of Whiteoak and Green. Im sure Green would like a little revenge from a couple years ago, and Green maybe would rather play Whiteoak and stay away from the three seed east. I could very possibly see the top 6 going. Especially with Fairfield coming off a loss to Fayetteville and with their best player battling an injury
1.) Notre Dame
2.) Webster
3.) East
4.) Whiteoak
5.) Green
6.)Fairfield
