I'm more discussed in why they don't play very good defense, hate they chuck up 3's all the time, why they suck at the free throw line, and why they won't play physical down low.

I'm more discussed in why they don't play very good defense, hate they chuck up 3's all the time, why they suck at the free throw line, and why they won't play physical down low.

It's not that we play bad defense, we just play the same defense and teams adjust to it, they find a weakness in it and exploit it. and we don't change it up to stop it. I myself would like to see it mixed up every so many trips down the court...Element of surprise...Make a basket and go into full court press, run that for a few defensive plays and then go into half court press, then after a few more change to a 1-3-1, then change it up into a man to man...That wouldn't be predictable...They would have to wonder what kind of offense to run instead of knowing they can run one play and not be stopped.

We are usually money on the 3, we barely shot any tonight, and I hate to say it, but the ball was not passed tonight. Musser and Mattox are money on the corners...Musser shot 3 times tonight from the corner and made 2 of them, Mattox never shot from the corner at all tonight. Sheets and Lilly are no doubt the high scorers, but they shoot the ball a lot more, not going to call it ball hogging or what not, it's a matter of being competitive and wanting to score. They try to do that too much instead of trusting in the underclassmen.

We don't have the muscle down underneath, We have some height but just not much muscle to be physical, Not faulting the kids, they can't control their size. They are quick and can jump but we aren't getting many points. With that being said, our offense isn't set up for them to score that many points.

Foul Shots I can't understand, we have excellent shooters, but just can't make them from the stripe.

Bottom line, If we don't start passing the ball, don't get more production in the paint, don't hit our foul shots, we will struggle in the tournament. We can't just keep relying on our shooting, cause if baskets aren't coming then you better play some incredible defense.

But I don't know nothing about basketball...I know when we play bad basketball and I know when a game isn't very well officiated. Tonight was a case of BOTH!!!

Our boys will bounce back...Will we beat Alexander or Vinton County? If we don't change up defense, play big in the paint or hit foul shot's...No we won't beat them....Some games we can get by with having sub par games in those areas, but shooting lights out and we can get the win. But not against these teams.

I believe in our team, I believe in our boys and I know we have some of the best talent in the TVC Ohio, But we aren't going to get any recognition outside of Meigs County until we beat a Vinton County or an Alexander....And I will say this now, those days will be coming, We wasn't supposed to be winning this many games this year...There isn't 5 people on SEOP that would have guessed Meigs would only have 3 losses this season. Everyone was expecting another 10 or 11 win season..I mean after all, we only traded Isaiah English for Sheets and we moved Mattox up to Varsity, everything else is the same. These boys have improved for the most part as a TEAM. We have depth on the bench.

Once again I don't know anything though.

Thats an easy one. Meigs lost this game tonight at the foul line, shooting 60% will not get it done in close competitive ball games especially missing a key foul shot with :10 on the clock. Meigs also lost this game keeping their "Guts" at home, being out rebounded by 12 which lead to 16 more shots by Athens than Meigs, 16 more shots!!!!! That is 20% more shots than Meigs got up.

Then you have situations where you had careless turnovers like being stripped while trying to run out the clock, got scared and picked up his dribble in a trap.

And for all your whining about fouls, Athens 17 fouls called, Meigs 16.

Yep, and it just goes to show how good Alexander actually is when you don't play at home with the officials who can't actually call a game that's begins after 7:30 and can ride to the game with their kids who attend school there. Seems they find a decent team on the road or on a neutral court and they seem to not win. Maybe that's why that big building in Athens is so elusive.

But you never say anything about officiating do you Bandit?...lol

... I fully understand differences in opinions ... I also know about "being close to a situation" (i.e. having boys on teams) ... lots of well deserved "pride" in their accomplishments AND the defending of the same ... however imo (and yep I have one just because in the "real world" EVERYBODY has one) - no-one will be swayed to or from an opinion that "get's personal" - just doesn't happen and it definitely won't happen in a "text" format as even the best of texts are misconstrued ... the best and only way to "move on" is to "agree to disagree" - state your opinion /KNOW that others will disagree/ accept that and MOVE ON ... at the very least do the "hate" in a PM ... this at least "contains" the hate/disagreement to a chosen few ...

Pfloyd I know Waverly won last I heard with just mins to go Waverly was up big
