Why on God's green earth would you call out a kid by name and say he can't shoot or is not explosive.
Probably a 15-year old that could have handed your lunch to you when you were in your prime...SMH. Let him grow into his body and start competing with better players and see what happens. Bunch of keyboard jock-stars that probably never played or if they did play brought the water and towels at time-outs.
No names, be positive when using names. Fool.
Burg Freshman
Re: Burg Freshman
Trying to make me out to be something I'm not Abe? Not cool. Holden's name was brought up in the very first topic. I didn't call him out, only made the observation that neither kid mentioned although great talents, were at D1 talent yet and I gave my opinion as to why. I've seen both shoot and they need to work on their shot. Of course these guys are better than I'll ever be. Maybe I didn't word it right. Was not trying to disrespect

And by the way, Holden is unbelievable at football. I think he could be the best that this area has seen in a long time. Wait til next year.

We live in America, you can have your opinion.
My opinion is what is not cool is mentioning specific kid's names whether it be from Ironton, Wheelersburg or China for that matter and saying they can't shoot, or not explosive or whatever. Particularly when the thread is about 15-year old freshmen that hasn't touched the varsity hardwood yet.
My opinion is that isn't "cool" to use your words.
Re: Burg Freshman
Again, look at the entire thread. I never opened the thread and I never degraded anyone. I simply made a statement that both student athletes were not where they needed to be to be D1 level. If you would read my other posts you would have noticed where if the student athlete could develop those skills better, he could dominate. There, I even wrote that at your standards. No names mentioned.

Re: Burg Freshman
Woby and I have disagreed in the past, but gotta take his side here. People just have absolutely zero idea how difficult it is to play at ANY level of college basketball, let alone D1. It's harder now than ever
Re: Burg Freshman
I can't believe by the name of this topic that anyone should be upset when naming the kids name. How many other freshman does burg have that is worthy of having a whole topic dedicated to them? Probably none other than Holden. If you are trying to not talk about the kid, probably the wrong topic to comment on. Let's keep it real....the kid may be good but he is 15 and has a lot of developing to do to be considered a D1 recruit.Abe Froman wrote:I am not trying to make anyone out to be anything.wobycat wrote:Trying to make me out to be something I'm not Abe? Re: Burg Freshman
If your kid is good at a sport, people are going to talk (bad or good). Take the criticism and make that be another reason to work harder and be better.
