Agree, the #6-7 seeds should have been P.VAlley and Webster because of strenght of schedule and quality wins.
I told everyone that East locked up the 3 seed with the big win over Eastern friday night. I was a little shocked that Western got the 1 seed because of the close game to Notre Dame.
Fairfield deserved the #3 seed at least. Their strength of schedule is unbelievable with four Div. 2 games. This draw is the same as always. Way too political and the children these "teachers" are dealing with get the shaft because of it. Everyone seems to forget the kids here and only thinks about themselves. How sad that the coaching community has come to this. I would hope that the District Board would look at something like the football seedings to take it out of the hands of irresponsible adults.
OMG, I have never heard this much whining before over one or two teams not getting a seed higher. Face it the draw is over now go out and win the games in front of you, it all will even out come game time. To say East has the easiest road to the district...I dont know about that....
i think new boston should have gotten a little more credit because of all the heartbreaking loses they have taken. i know they should find a way to win the close 1's but they have played with omost every1 team they have played.
i wouldnt take them to lightly come tourny time. dont punch easts ticket to districts quite yet.!
The complaining about the politics and cheating the kids is a joke. Coaches aren't just thinking for they're own butt here. They are thinking of the team. Myself, I would have tried to avoid Oak Hill myself! And for people to say East has it rapped up, Southern is a very good team and well coached! It's all about match ups when you walk in the room to draw your teams. You are looking ahead (the bad teams) one game and the good teams look deeper through the brackets. People need to see the big picture here!
And I'm going to really stir the pot for you Greyhound backers. From you last couple of home games Fairland and Ripley, you should better buckle up. Because when Ripley takes you to the wire at home, you might not be that good! I saw them both. UGLY!

It was not only the Valley sectional where teams got beat by politics. But I will use the Valley sectional to show how political the whole draw is. Each year two of the three SHL schools play each other, meaning only 2 have a chance to make it out. This year, you cant tell me that Fairfield hasnt played the toughest schedule. They should have got the 3 seed, hands down. You have Western who is the 1 seed and has 10 of their 11 wins against div 4 and one against div 3. They lost to the "so called" 9 seed by 20! I wasnt there but I am willing to bet that all the SOC schools voted the top 5 seeds all the same. Who wins in all of this, I can tell you the kids dont win. We all tell kids that hard work pays off, explain to Fairfields kids how playing a tough schedule paid off for them this year. The three SHL schools and paint valley needs to schedule all their non-league games against SOC1 schools, drill them and maybe they will get some respect.
You all are right, it is what it is now! I just hate seeing deserving kids lose out, I know it was the SHL in this sectional and I am sure there were other conferences in other sectionals. I just wish there was a more fair way of doing things!
Good luck to all the teams in tourney time and may the best team win!
Does anyone else find it odd that there are 7-8 days between the 1st and 2nd round of the Sectionals? Or am I just reading it wrong? I was thinking that a team would have to play both of those games inside the same week. Probably just remembering wrong? ("misremembering" as Roger Clemens would say...ha!)
Look it happens at the college level as well deserving teams with great records get left out every year.Teams with tough schedules getting poor seeds because of not as impresive win ,loss record JUST PLAY and the cream will rise to the top in the end.GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS finish strong and have fun boys.
tartan, if east would have gotten the fifth or sixth seed that they deserved you would be leading the whiners on here. who has east beaten or played that is not d4? if i was an a.d. i would find the worst teams i could find to play so i could get a better seed. of course getting the soc 1 teams on your schedule must be hard to do.
Hey SPARKY you sure do piss, and moan ALOT if the shl teams are all that you are saying they are then they will win out anyways for peetsakes shut up and about it the teams all have to win to move on come tourny time does it matter how many bigger schools you played during the year NO you still have to beat the ones your matched up within the tourny. The draw is over and the better teams will advance no matter what in the end THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we would have gotten the 5th or 6th seed no I would not be on here complaining, especially as much as the SHL teams are right now. Shoot East didn't even get any respect last year when they beat Peebles even...so the Tartan faithful are used to not getting respect when it comes from outside the area other than SOC schools. And guess what most of this year team returns next year also and will probly not get respect from outside the area either, but we deal with it and prove teams wrong.

Baller1..................Have your athletic directors schedule the games! Then what if your plan backfires!
Enjoy the rest of the season and Good Luck to your team in the tournament.
