Wellston will be fine..they have a lot of younger players who just need playing time to get better. They may not win the league this year...or next for that matter...but id bet that Wellston will be crownd TVC Champs before the Buckeyes. Maybe you should just stay on the football thread...at least you all have something over there (2009 TVC Championship) to back you up.

BIG matchups this week in the TVC-Ohio!!

Tuesday Dec. 15th

Alexander (4-0)(1-0)-TVC @
Nelsonville York (3-0)(1-0)-TVC

...Alexander will be looking to continue the HOT start as they look to finish the first qtr or their season undefeated at 5-0 and move to 2-0 (both road games) in the TVC. Alex lost a lot from last years team but is proving they havent forgotten how to win ballgames! A win over Nelsonville will only push their confidence higher and make them even more dangerous in the battle for the TVC crown. Meanwhile...Nelsonville York has also gotten off to a great start! At 3-0 and 1-0 in the TVC...the Buckeyes can lay all doubt aside with a win over the Spartans! This is a huge game for the Buckeyes...The Spartans proved to the Bucks this year (in football) that they were'nt your mommas Spartans...could the Buckeyes return the favor on the hardwood?!? We shall see!!!

My prediction-- Alex by 6-12 points.

Belpre (2-0) @
Meigs (1-2) (0-1)-TVC

Belpre finds themselves in a familiar place...and that place is on top! With a win @ Meigs, the Eagles would only add to the respect and fear from all around the TVC. The Eagles have been the sleeper in the TVC in most preseason discussions and they are begining to look more like a front runner. Solid guard play and quickness will be key for the Eagles against Meigs. Belpre could be setting at 3-0, 1-0 TVC after this one with a massive make or break matchup against VC on friday. Meigs will be looking to get back on track after the loss to the Spartans. Meigs has also been beaten by Warren so far this sesason, so no one can say anything about the schedule being easy for Meigs! Although Meigs played Alex tough...they came up a bit short. Meigs has a chance to prove that they just have a bad game against the Spartans and that they (Meigs) let it slip away...A win over Belpre would put them right back in the thick of the TVC-Ohio race with a record of 1-1...a loss and an 0-2 start will be very hard to climb out of as this year, everyone in the TVC-O has gotten better and there will be no easy games.

My prediction--Belpre by 10-16 points.

Friday Dec. 18th

Vinton County (2-0) @
Belpre (2-0)

Vinton County travels to a place where they have had recent success...but before that...basically NO success! Belpre is one (if not THE) hardest place to play in the TVC-Ohio. The Vikings have won the last 3 or 4 games in the Nest and look to continue the streak. The VIkings are coming off of a sloppy win over a good John Glenn team...Games such as this one will determine who is for real. VC has been on top for a few years now and the entire TVC is looking to knock them off...will it be Belpre?? Belpre would love nothing more than to take down VC and reclaim the TVC-Ohio crown in its final season. The Eagles have won the TVC title many many times before so all this talk about Belpre taking back the title is familiar to the Eagles. The Eagles have a very good team and will need the 6th man to help them out in this one.

My prediction-- VC by 8-14 points.

Athens (2-1) @
Alexander (4-0) (1-0)-TVC

Finally this week, Athens meets Alexander in what could play a key role in deciding the TVC championship..Athens has talent and other than the Jackson game, they have looked good! Alex has been somewhay of a surprise as they lost alot last year but havent lost a beat this year! If Alex wins, they will only solidefy their spot in the top 3 of the TVC..meanwhile the loser will be in a pack of great 1 loss teams that are all gunning for the top spot. You DONT want to get behind early in the race for the TVC...not this year anyways!

My prediction--Alexander by 1-4 points.

Should be a great week in the TVC!!! Front runners will emerge and questions will be answered!

Dundas - Great analysis on this weeks games. Vinton Co is the team to beat and Belpre would like nothing better than to beat the Vikings in "The Nest" Friday night. I think Vinton Co last loss in TVC play was at the Eagles Nest if memory serves me right.
Tuff Tuff week for Belpre as they play 4 games in 5 days, Meigs, Warren, Vinton and Marietta. If Belpre can stay focused and take them one game at a time, I think the matchups favor the Eagles against Meigs and Vinton Co. Both Tate and Sims are averaging double doubles (Tate, 20 ppg 11 rpg Sims 18 ppg 12 rpg) and present huge matchup difficulties for the opposing team because of their size. Vinton Co isn't gonna just give up the TVC title. If the Eagles want it they must TAKE it.

GO EAGLES
