Spartan,
If that is the best argument you can come up with, to call someone ignorant would be very hypocritical of you.

Actually I like the City of Athens and a majority of the people in it. I do not like posters on here who will not acknowledge the fact that being a school of that size and having the financial capital provided by the University gives them an advantage of smaller and less wealthy schools. Your own post acknowledges the fact that everyone's object is to put the best product on the court or the field and let the best teams win. I guess what I would like to see is people on preps acknowledge that they could not compete against schools their own size and switched leagues to win games instead of working harder to compete against the likes of Logan. All year in football we had to hear about how much better Athens was in football with no mention of the difference in strength of schedule. I guess the truth hurts more than a lie. For the record I am glad Athens is in the league as long they can compete well against non-league opponents. For example, Trimble went 1-4 then won the TVC Hocking in football by blowing everybody out. That makes the league appear weak. I will be the first to admit that Athens is talented in football and basketball this year. They will be at the top of the league in every sport because of their number advantage over other schools. I am done talking about subject as Steely would say I am tired of kicking a dead horse. Athens will always continue to have to fight this type of analysis as long as they continue to be smug and pretend like their years in the SEOAL never existed.

By the way what does "loosing" mean?

I just wanted to point out the incorrect assumptions of part that says "having the financial capital provided by the University gives them an advantage of smaller and less wealthy schools". Athens doesn't get direct financial benefits from having OU in town... there are indirect benefits like have the professors, administrators, football coaches, etc. buying bigger houses and paying more property tax... but Ohio University doesn't pay taxes on the property it owns, which is a large chunk of Athens city property. It's state property and can't be taxed. If businesses owned that property, the city would get more property tax revenue. OU doesn't contribute money directly to Athens city schools. Yes, the town would be dramatically different without OU, mostly in a hugely negative way if it wasn't here. However, it does also cause problems having a small-time athletic university in the same small town as a high school when it comes to getting money from the local businesses. Look at Holzer and how much money they contributed to Jackson for their athletics and Gallipolis for their new school. Where did Holzer's money go in Athens? One million to OU. Don't get me wrong, it's obviously a benefit to have OU in Athens. It's no cash cow though.

In terms of the league? Is the TVC one of the worst in the state? For the size of the schools involved? I think it's a bit harsh to say that it's the worst. It's not a strong league overall, but Athens has struggled recently in the "big three" sports. It's a good fit for Athens (for the "big three" but none of the other sports) and it adds more competition for the stronger teams in the TVC. Some of the better teams in the TVC were getting a bit stagnant and now have another strong team to contend with. Funny how many people said how the big school of Athens was still going to get stomped in the TVC and now some of those same people are complaining about how Athens is unfairly beating up on the little guys.

Athens is enjoying one of its best athletic senior classes in some time, so it's hard to tell if they will continue to dominate the league(in a majority of sports) after this year. For now... hard to see anyone coming close to Athens again in the all-conference trophy.

King,

I was not stating an argument, just facts. Interpret them however you want. If your brain cant comprehend the few simple facts I provided, than you are looking through glasses that do not allow you to see.
