Re: Oak Hill @ Wheelersburg 2/10
From what I watched on the zone playoff game between Minford and W'burg, in football,l thought both teams had their chances to put the game away early but didn't, and it drawed out until the 4th quarter. Minford chocked at the end. W'burg held on and then drove to seal it. If Minford has all their offense returning, I'd say they're the team to beat in this league.
W'burg has lost that big FB/MLB to graduadtion, and he will be hard to replace as well as their tailback #3. I saw #22 come in but he doesn't look like a natural TB as we he took his first good shot he stopped, and didn't run the same since. In the next film against Libety Union he didn't touch the ball too much, W'burg coaching staff must have saw the same thing. #5 ran hard and why didn't he get it more in both games?

What times have caught up with the Burg? Burg comes into the season with one player (not counting Tyler because of the injury) with any varsity experince at all and with four games left in the season were playing for sole possesion of the SOC DIV II, yet everyone seems to be thinking they had a down year. Sure, a SOC championship is one of the first accomplishmnets they strive for in the season.
For them to win the amount of game they did is a huge confidence bulider to them for the upcoming season and trust me, Burg has a strong 8th grade class that will mix in well with the varsity now. Burg looks to be strong for the 4-6 years.
yes the 8th grade class is good, with massie's son Clay leading the way. also the burg has a transfer moving in (it's rumored that Andrew Bendolph is moving to the Burg) this will we a good addition to this team, his defense is outstanding
I saw in the paper that Bendolph is a junior(which I think is a mistake). If this is true he would stupid to transfer to the Burg because he wouldn't be able to play his senior season. I thought he was only a soph, but even with that he would still have to set out next year so why transfer.

Yes that is a mistake, he is a Sophmore. And no he wont have to sit out a year becaue he said that if he makes the move, he is moving into the district, so that he won't have to sit a year out.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I don't think Bendolph could take the discipline that Barrick demands from his players.

He's a sophmore at Portsmouth and he's a pretty good athlete
Re: Oak Hill @ Wheelersburg 2/10
Why does he want to leave? Is he not happy, not scoring enough? What is the problem?

He was going to Ironton last year, guess Burgs the flavor of the month huh?
good luck if he comes, he wont make it through pre season with Barrick.
Burg fans should know that, they are the ones that said he had a real displine problem ,after Portsmouth Burg Game, and slammed him pretty hard on here about it.

I think Oak Hill came up with some better stuff to say and yes they did say "This is ugly" not "you are ugly" Kind of obvious since they were pointing up at the scoreboard. Also a funny one was "Stegman who?"I also liked it when they said "We want Minford"
Yes i agree Crazee the pumpfake ondera gave when the student section was going to jump up was PRICELESS! Norm had a few words with him but oh well! GO OAKS!
From what I've been told, that should of been a violation, because you are not allowed to simulate the motion to shoot because it could cause lane violations. Didn't matter in the outcome of course, just thought that was interesting
it might be a violation, but i know that former arkansas razorback Larry Johnson ( not the football player lol) who lead the razor backs far into the NCAA tourney, he had a "pump-fake" type shot at the stripe. he would fake the shot then pull it back towards his head, then shoot. im just saying that i dont think it is at the college level, but im not sure about in highschool
That would be UNLV Runnin' Rebel Larry Johnson(yes, Grandmama) who along with Stacy Augmon, Anderson Hunt, and Greg Anthony took the Rebs to a title and ran off 45 straight wins over two seasons before being upset by Duke a year after drilling the Blue Devils. The Arkansas player you are probably think of is Corlis Williamson, who led Arkansas to the 94 title and then back to the title game in 95 when they were upset by UCLA and the O'Bannon brothers.

I was just at Kali's and TK wanted me to post something. He must have been stewing over this for awhile since the last post on this thread was 10 days ago.
He said, "Tell the Burg People to start 3 new threads. 1. How Good Burg use to Be. 2. How Young Burg is. 3. How Good Burg will be in the Future.
He said, "None of you want to talk about it when you get beat, you just want to talk about your past accomplishments and make excuses."
He also wanted everyone to stop in for some delicious Kali's pizza next time you are in Oak Hill.
OK, he said the first part and I added the last part.

I haven't seen very many people on here make excuses about getting beat. It's kinda hard to make excuses when a team beats you by 15 plus both time. What I have saw is people saying Wheelersburg is young which they are and Wheelersburg doesn't have an outside shooter. If Wheelresburg had an outside shooting game then the Oak Hill game would be a lot better than it was. You have to look Oak Hill didn't have to guard anyone outside the arc. If they have to guard the 3 then Oak Hill's zone opens up a lot more Wheelersburg gets those open inside looks. Yes Oak Hill asthe better team. If Wheelersburg has some outside shooting would they have won the game who knows. I will say also sat this there aren't to many people from other schools that will get on here and tell a team god job after they beat their team but if have saw many times when Wheelersburg loses the posters from Wheelersburg will be on here congratulating them on there victory.
