Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectionals
Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
I bet the people from Meigs High School are hoping for Southern to get a 2 seed and Eastern to get a 7 seed. This game would be sold out!

I would say the District Board wants that bad. All the other schools might be hoping for that also-means more money!!!

Wanting to get a grasp on the SOC teams at valley before I rank them. Not wanting to get people all stired up. How many times has New Boston and ND played Waverly, Valley, and Eastern Pike??? Scores????

Maybe Webster should move back to the SOC I?Swanker Pine wrote:how many times have they played

Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
Why? Because they play a good schedule against very nearby teams that probably give a good gate.....and they just happen to be in the big side of the league?
SW is so smart for playing those teams. They've made the regionals about 5 times in the last 10 years....must be working.

Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
Will Whiteoak need to beat North Adams tonight to earn the #6 seed? Will the coaches put East above them and knock Whiteoak to #7?......I can't see that happening unless they throw Manchester or South Webster at #2......thinking Manchester.
1. ND
2. NB
3. Man
4. SW
5. FF
6. WO
7. E
My guess.....regardless of any outcomes today or tomorrow.

Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
Ironman: exactly...I'd rather go 10-10 every year in soc II than 15-5 in soc I. The schedule has Webster prepared for the D4 tourney, and as you mentioned, gives them great home gates. Soc I schools don't travel nearly as well, and without football, Webster athletic dept. needs this extra money.
As for the draw, ND is obvious 1 seed, but wher it gets interesting is what they do with New Boston. As for Webster, could be anywhere from 2 to 5 seed...but regardless, will be facing an SHL school.*

Records are complete now. Has there ever been a year where the records were so close? I would love to see New Boston get the #2 seed and play Whiteoak but the scenario below will probably prevail. My ranking of the teams is in parenthesis.
1. Notre Dame 17-2 (1)
2. Manchester 11-7 (3)
3. New Boston 11-6 (6)
4. South Webster 10-8 (2)
5. Fairfield 11-8 (4)
6. East 7-9 (7)
7. Whiteoak 6-12 (5)
8. Green 5-13 (8)
9. Clay 2-17 (9)
10. Western 2-16 (10)

Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
I agree Art. It is smart for Webster to play in the SOC II and I wish Eastern pike did. I merely said that because Swanker was whining about playing those schools. You can't have it both ways.
At Valley, i think
1. ND
2. Manchester
3. NB
4. SW
5. FF
6. East
7. Whiteoak
8. Green
9. Clay
10. Western
At Meiggs
1. Southern
2. EP
3. Waterford
4. SG
5. SJ
6. SV
7. Reedsville
8. Miller
9. Trimble
Unless there are some back room deals...which is always a possibility

That Valley guess....which I agree with is the backroom deal.
Whiteoak will face Manchester and SW will face Fairfield.

Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
Could someone list the results for East? I don't know who they have defeated or lost to.

Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
Thanks a lot.
Quick look says they were awful early on but have been pretty competitive the last 1/2 of the season....with a good win over Eastern

Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
do new boston and east still play in those small non regulation gyms?
Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
Glenwood High School is in their last year playing in the Tiger Den! The new school should be ready by this fall.sparky wrote:do new boston and east still play in those small non regulation gyms?
East will continue to play in their gym for years to come as far as I know.
Re: Division IV Lucasville Valley and Meigs County sectional
and Fairfield just beat Manchester....goodness
With a healthy Quentin Williams (which he is not...only played in 6 minutes of this game)...Fairfield might be the 2nd best team in this sectional.....no way they get any chance of that seeding.
I would seed it:
1. ND
2. FF
3. SW
4. Man
5. NB
6. WO
7. East
8. Green
9. Western
10. Clay
I'll guess this is how it goes:
1. ND
2. Man
3. NB
4. SW
5. FF
6. East
7. WO
8. Green
9. Western
10. Clay
*If NB get the #2....East will get the #7
