Rock Hill @ River Valley
People quit, whatever the reason. Statistically, it would appear to me that the missing link in RV's personnel has been out due to discipinary problems rather than those who have left. No doubt it hurts every time you lose bench strength but that is water over the dam.
Regardless of Coach Layton's ability, the fans need to remain behind the team. I think that RV will recover. Their inside play is typically very physical and that leads to foul problems and the need for bench depth. One to their premier inside men quit and one is suspended until this week or next.
The team started the season with a lot of players and only 5 can be on the floor. No one likes to sit, particularly behind a younger player. Have patience!! Good luck RV boys. Only look forward and you will recover.

I think MaxPreps is a good tool for coaches, players and parents who wish to point recruiters toward their kids. If you do find any problems or descrepencies with the Rock Hill site let me know and I will get them fixed. Post or PM me with any corrections. We have already made some corrections to some of the players personal information. We want this to be a tool for the players and their parents. It seems these days that schools do very little to promote kids to colleges and I've seen several area players who should be looked at. I think every school should hire (at a coach's salary) a person who's sole job is to promote student athletes... but until it's done (which will probably be never) parents must take the lead... ask your coach for game film, send stats to colleges of interest, visit college websites for information, monitor your school's site... if that is your desire.

Best game to date for the Redmen... great team ball and Matney was on FIRE.. He had 29 at the half... he knocked down 6-8 from the 3 pt line... Good ball movement and sound defense. They didn't let their opponent work back into the game. After a slow start in the 3rd I thought we could have used a timeout... that hurt us against South Gallia... but tonight we were up by so much it didn't matter much.... River Valley couldn't buy a basket... RH played good defense and contested most shots. D. Kuehne had double figs at about 11... everyone else was in single digits... but Matney more than took up the slack... Will post the final stats on Maxpreps later... Congrats Redmen... we're starting to get our feet under us!

Wow, I did not expect it to be like this. I have seen both teams and truly thought it would be a close game that could go either way. Congrats to the Redmen. With the way both Gallia County teams played last night-I wonder if not being able to practice on thursday had an effect? Not making excuses but just wondering out loud!

I know that there were some things said that should not have been said. That being said. River Valley has some of the nicest people and nicest parents and students around. They always have a class act. In football they were always nothing but very polite. I always enjoy playing River Valley no matter what the sport.
