Valley 72
Clay 28

This game was played Tuesday and reported in the PDT and I was shocked to see how many people still picked Clay even after they had lost by 44 points.

Game will still be counted in the standings, so if you picked them then tough sh**.

Just kidding. The game won't be counted. lol

I think it really shows how many people really pay attention to the Daily Times!

Congrats D-5, you are at 9-5, I am at 11-3, we both took West Union and Alexander. Great job! Good luck in the tourney!
I am kicking myself right now, I originally had Peebles and changed it at the last minute! That would have tied us I believe.

Yep, your right!

Banddad, you were 4 games behind D-5 in the standings, so you still would have been one game out.

I tries to pick some upsets tonight and they all came back to bite me in the a$$. I took Western, Northwest, and Waverly and they all lost.

I know I took SE Ross, they beat Piketon first time, this time lost by 2.
Took Waverly, totaly bombed that one.
Then the second guessing of Peebles.
Would like to see Jon on the same AAU team as the Freshman at Peebles!

Coop. it was played Feb. 5th. It wasn't deleted because some people had already picked. It won't be counted in the standings.

MACON, Ohio -- Manchester opened the game in a shooting slump from which it never quite recovered as Eastern Brown rolled to a 71-48 victory Friday night.

Eastern opened by scoring the first nine points of the game while the Greyhounds missed their first five shots and didn't get on the board until a Kade West bucket at the 3:35 mark. They received the luck of the bounce on their next possession when a group of players from both teams went for a rebound and it caromed into the basket, but it would be their last of the quarter. Eastern would take advantage of Manchester's 23 percent first-half shooting to take a 18-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and blow the game open in the second.

After Manchester scored six unanswered points to pull within eight at 20-12, Eastern's Tyler Knabb, who finished with a game-high 17, knocked down consecutive three-pointers to spark a 14-1 run. By the time Manchester's Skyler Hayslip broke a five-minute drought from the field with two threes in the last minute of the half, Eastern had already opened a 34-13 lead and wouldn't be seriously threatened again.

Manchester scored eight unanswered points early in the second half to cut the lead to 38-27, but the Warriors answered with yet another run, outscoring the Greyhounds 14-3 over the remainder of the quarter and stretching what would be an 18-3 run into the fourth for the game's biggest lead at 56-30.

Manchester received one of few late bright spots when Dylan Hanson, who tied with Hayslip for the team lead with 13, sank back-to-back threes but the Greyhounds still only cut the lead to an insurmountable 18 points with 5:40 to play. Also benefiting Eastern in a game during which both teams reached the bonus early in both halves, was an edge from the line, where it shot 20-of-30, compared to 14-of-32 for Manchester.

Though Knabb's 17 points were the only double-figure total for the Warriors, they featured a balanced output in which seven players scored seven points or more as Tyler Neal added 9, Jordan Cierley, Ethan Hawkins and Tyler Burns all had 9 and Eric Kinder and Taylor Little each chipped in 7.

Both teams now move on to tournament play with Eastern taking on West Union on Monday at Waverly and Manchester facing the Whiteoak-South Webster winner Feb. 19 at Valley.

Manchester 6 13 11 18 -- 48

Eastern Brown 18 18 16 19 -- 71

M: Hanson 4 3-6 13, Quinlan 2 2-3 6, Cooper 1 1-2 3, West 1 0-0 2, Little 0 2-7 2, Hayslip 3 5-6 13, Redmond 2 1-4 6, Shelton 1 0-0 3, Warren 0 0-2 0, Tolle 0 0-2 0. Totals 14 14-32 48.

EB: Knabb 6 2-2 17, Neal 2 3-4 9, Cierley 2 4-5 8, Kinder 3 1-3 7, Snider 2 2-2 6, Hawkins 4 0-0 8, Burns 2 4-8 8, Little 2 3-4 7, E.Orr 0 1-2 1. Totals 23 20-30 71.

Three-pointers: M 6 (Hanson 2, Hayslip 2, Redmond, Shelton), EB 5 (Knabb 3, Neal 2).
