From what I remember, Starters gone are Jenkins, Stegmans older brother, Cook, Spradlin and Lang is out for the year. A. Stegman is back, but you lost 4 starters and the 6th man off the bench. How could you possibly think you return enough to win 17 games?
Re: Wheelersburg 08-09
They lost not only 4 of 5 starters (3 to graduation and 1 to injury) but also the next five of six off the bench.
For this Wheelersburg team, it is not what they return but with what they reload. They may well win 17 games this year or they may not. They will not play many teams this year that has better athletes--maybe better basketball players--but not better athletes.
Next year should be better though. They will start 2-3 juniors and 2-3 sophomores this year. Certainly no seniors will start as none are on the roster.

Burg will contend for the SOC II and fight it out against Oak Hill and maybe a dark horse in Northwest. I see the Pirates winning anywhere from 16-18 games this season.
I don't know about the student section being behind the basketball different, East has it...but I am sure they will use it better than the East student section does. Hopefully East students to be at the Foundation Game between the two and see how it should be used during the games.

Playing in a new gym could be an asset as they will at least be able to practice in there on a regular basis and get used to the intangibles of the gym, whereas all the teams that they play at home this year, this will be there first time shooting on that floor and they will have to get used to the student section that will be behind the basket. That will be somehting different and unique to this area.

Waverly also has a student section behind the basket on one end. Of course, unless you go to the girls' games, you might not know that as the boys still play in the old Hawhee palace.

If that is so, I would expect them to announce it tomorrow at the foundation game.
