Yes Zville had a scrimmages Sat I guess it did not go very well the kids played soft the only won 2-8 quarters. This could be a long season for the Blue Devils I think they will lose in the league to more than just Chilli.

ZBD, not sure where you got the scrimmage results but I heard a bit more of a positive story, especially considering they played without Prati. Although I wasn't there, the players I spoke to reported losing twice to Mass. Jackson by two points each time(they beat us by 6 this summer at the Wheeling Shootout with Prati playing), losing to a team from Eucluid by 6 that featured two bigs, and easying beating a team from Springfield. Can't commit on the "softness of play" however, if the player reports are correct I see no reason for the Devils to panick. I have to think Prati impacts the game enough that had he played the Devils would have been be a bit more successful on the scoreboard. Brannon Mills, Tanner Gibson and Raheem Foreman were said to be doing the majority of the scoring which is a good sign b/c these guys will have to score when teams load up on Prati.

On another note, during the intra-squad scrimmage last night Prati looked like the ankle is healed up and he's ready to go.

The source was a couple of people who were there. Prati looked ok I feel he needs to be a bit more physical around the basket I was impressed with the Gibson he looked like he grow 4inchs or more. I stand by my comments. I want Zville to do well but I feel we will lose to more than just Chilli in the SEOAL. There are some role players that really need to step up for this not to happen. I have questions who going to step up when Joe is out the Game? Tanner has grown and looks like a new player but he is still a sophmore will that hurt Zville this year?

I think in time the role players will come into their own and be positive contributors to the team. Remember the "role" players were JV players last year and Tanner played freshman ball so it may take some time to develop the confidence needed to impact ballgames. As each game/practice passes these players will only grow more confident in their abilities and respective roles for the team. At this point, Mills and Gibson may have to shoulder the load when Joe is out, however as the season progresses I see this balancing out. Foreman, Harris, Young and Baldwin are all capable players and at some point or another they will get the confidence needed to perform at a higher level than we've seen to date.

Gibson will have his share of good and bad games, however I don't think he's even played close to his potential yet this year. As the season progresses hopefully his average/good games give the Devils what they need and on subpar nights Young can always give the team a boost off the bench.

I hear Chilli had a tuff go at it last night in Gahanna so maybe the Devils aren't all that far behind other teams that graduated three studs????

I guess The Tanner boy is going to have to find some poor 6'7" kid who wants to better himself and move him into Zanesville's school district.

Do I see some sour grapes in that one :?:

We didn't win the State Title......................because we did not have a 6'7 player who moved from Cincinnati to Zanesville :?: :aaaaa18

And shucks, we split with that team from the Paper Mill City on the banks of the Scioto River, but we defeated them for the SEOAL DOC game. We don't deserve this.

See you all at the Hat :!: :aaaaa59

1st off, the scrimmage with Logan Elm was cancelled due to Logan Elm's Football season being longer than normal.

Devils go 3-0; Freshman by 2 in OT, JV by about 10, Varsity by 9. The Devils looked solid the 1st half after falling behind by a few buckets early- led by 9 @ the half. Second half was so-so due to poor shooting in the 3rd, (the Devils were getting good shots that just weren't falling) but they were able to make a nice run in the 4th to regain control after the lead was cut to 5. Overall good day for the Devils, got some game-type experience for a young team, everyone that hit the floor contributed something positive, and they had a nice balanced scoring attack. But I'm sure the coaching staff seen a few areas that they'll tightened up b/4 we travel to Reynoldsburg 12/13. 11 days and counting!!!

Scoring Leaders:
Prati- 15
Mills- 11
Harris- 10 (8 in 2nd Half)
Gibson- 9
