after watching the game last night I could hear the broadcast crew saying Farmer with the ball at the 40, the 50 he could go all the way ohhhh what a hit but he hangs on to the ball. lol and he isnt playing football to keep from hurting his throwing arm he wouldnt take a harder hit than that if he was playing the Steelers lol.

There were several unnecessary hard hits last night. Looked like ZT game plan was to beat up and intimidate Piketon. Didnt work in the Football game and didnt work last night. Stay Classy.lol

huge 1st quarter for Portsmouth, Wayne Evans went off early in this game 17 of his 19 points and the big boy we had no answer for the whole game 23/17. portsmouth has a very good team and will be a load for anyone come tournament time. Streaks need to get healed up this week and get ready for the conferance, big game coming up with the Huntsmen at home on Friday.

Wow Evans is a very good all around basketball player and Mckinley is strong around the bucket. I said limiting offensive rebounds would be key and I counted nearly 15 in the first half. Portsmouth is to good to give them a second or third chance at scoring. Piketon picked it up in the second quarter but had no answer for Portsmouth. Congrats to the Trojans, Streaks shake it off time to beat the Huntsmen and look towards a league title.

Thanks to all of the Portsmouth fans for the very warm welcome, I certainly appreciate that, and it was good to be home again. I'm very proud of our kids, they stayed in the battle and didn't quit. Evans and McKinley killed us, and the Trojans shot lights out the first half. If that is the norm, Wow! Congrats to my friend Head Coach Eugene Collins on another great year to this point of the season. I believe I played or scrimmage all of the top teams in this area since the summer and I can tell you Portsmouth is one of the best...if not the best. I'm sure getting to the Final Four will have to go through the "Big 3" (Chesapeake, Ironton and Portsmouth)...But as I've always said "Anything can happen during the tournament" its a new season, its lose and go home, its whoever is hot, its who is peaking at the right time, its Luck, its everything falling into place and believe it or not..... its GOD! Every time I've made it...something magical happen to get us there....some call it luck or coincidence ...I know in my heart it was a Higher Power!
As for the Streaks...we need to get healthy, play better defense, and Rebound!!!!!! We are concentrating on getting better each night out and we are chasing another SVC Title. Hopefully by tournament time we will reach our peak...right now...we are a positive work in progress.
On a personal note....my kids are tough...they're fighting through a lot of behind the scenes injuries and illness....they don't complain or feel sorry for themselves, they're playing through it. I commend them for that and will always respect them as young men who continue to learn how to handle adversity.
This year, basketball has taken us beyond wins and loses and championships. It has taught us a lot about ourselves and things in this life that is bigger than basketball. So hats off to my kids...."stay in the fight" the best is yet to come!

Jeff, best wishes the rest of the year........and from the looks of your roster for the 2012-2013 season, I think your Redstreaks will be one of the top D3 teams in the SE District.
