Re: Peebles vs. Ripley
I have not seen either of them play head to head this year or last year but my question for those who have is - Dont these two guard each other for pretty much the whole game every time they play? I would think if there was any difference in the speed, quickness, ball handling, defense, etc - it would clearly visible for all to see.

Re: Peebles vs. Ripley
Arey has guarded Combs both of the times they have played this season with Beau Justice guarding Ricketts. Last season Ricketts guarded Countryman for Peebles. We really haven't seen them go straight at each other the past couple seasons. But I would agree with the ugly truth's list for the most part. The only thing I might switch would be Tyler Davidson or Gage Waits for Illes but that's debateable due to the fact that the only time I've seen him play as a sophomore was at the preview which is always a poor measuring stick for how someone is going to do.jimmy chipwood wrote:I have not seen either of them play head to head this year or last year but my question for those who have is - Dont these two guard each other for pretty much the whole game every time they play? Would agree with ugly truth's list and tribe's switch. I feel we should include Lawson from Eastern somewhere in a list like this. When he's healthy, the kid can score (20 pts. @ Peebles in the 2nd Half)

Re: Peebles vs. Ripley
Lawson is more of a pure shooting guard like Travis Combs. Those two are the top SG's in the league no doubt. It could be a good debate as to which is #1 out of that pairing. Lawson has the D1 scholarships and a better three point shot but I think Combs is better cutting to the basket and is one of the most clutch players in SEO as proven by his shooting in the tournament last season, especially against Harvest Prep.Debo wrote:Would agree with ugly truth's list and tribe's switch. I agree with you Tribe about Lawson and Combs. I dont think we have seen Lawson's ceiling yet, he has some more maturing to do as a player. I would agree with Davidson over Iles, I like Waits the most, I just kind of placed him in the SG category.

There's supposed to be a video before the varsity game. Hope it comes out ok.

Man, I feel bad about the video. We've shown a video before two home games this year-we TRIED to show it before three. Painful

41-30 Ripley at the half. We can't guard Jordan Mitchell, he has 17 at halftime.

I was listening to some of it on the radio a few minutes ago. Sounded like Ripley was doing good from the 3 point line.

HUGE win for the Indians. They scared me in the first half. Terrible from the free throw line though. Someone told me we were 3-15 to start the game.

Re: Peebles vs. Ripley
No doubt. If I was ranking them that's the order I would probably use. When he is hot it's nearly impossible to stop him.streetballer wrote:mitchell is prolly the best 3 point shooter in the league..its a close one between him, lawson and combs

Re: Peebles vs. Ripley
Speaking as a total outsider here who came to enjoy this great SHL matchup... if you were there tonight to scout Peebles, what exactly would you have drawn on the "offense" side of your paper? With less than a minute to go, Ripley calls a timeout after a missed free throw that went out of bounds on a Ripley player (I think that was the circumstance)- so Peebles knows they are getting the ball. In that time out wouldn't you think there would be a 'go to' play from Peebles? I was just surprised that Peebles immediately had to call another time out after Ripley because they didn't have a go-to play... IMO this was a great SHL matchup- but that was kind of the flow the whole night. Peebles really didn't have that same regimented, play set that they have been known to have in the past. Surprised me. Good game by both teams.
Re: Peebles vs. Ripley
Nice win for Peebles. I feel like if these two teams played each other 10 times, they would split it 5-5. That's how close these two teams are. Anxious to see how Ripley will rebound next week. Who do they play?
