Re: Warren @ Marietta 1/13
Warren seemed to falter in the 4th, although not quite as badly as the Ft Frye game.
Warren's better off scoring in the 60s, 70s, they've lost two low-scoring games because Warren fouls a lot and doesnt make their free throws as consistently as their opponents. Defense was shaky at times, but when four of your starters are in big foul trouble, there's not a lot of room for error.
Rough outing for Big Blue. Ship needs righted before the trip to Gallia friday night.

It wasnt as big as Marietta's but Warren's a smaller school and we were the away team. I would expect Warren to have a bigger student section at the Feb game in Vincent just because we'll be the home team.
The volume level from the Warren section was on par with Marietta's though...

Re: Warren @ Marietta 1/13
This was a good game. Both teams both played tough defense (terrible shooting percentages for both teams) and just ground it out against each other. Warren kept the tempo down which was to their advantage since the bench is so short and fatigue can play a factor. As expected, Marietta ran kids on and off the floor quite a bit. At one point a Marietta rebounder came down on Cunningham's head and put a cut it in it that required stitches. Pretty nasty as the blood was pouring pretty good. That took him out of the game for a while and hurt the Warriors. In the end, it was close, but Warren had three starters with 4 fouls which disrupted match-ups from the Warrior's perspective. Cunningham was the one that got the good looks in the final minute, but just couldn't hit. Understandable since his noggin' was all taped up. The officials were fair. Congrats to Marietta. The Warriors need to get healthy or it will be tough for them down the stretch in tight games because they will have folks in foul trouble and, depending on the pace of the game, get a bit more tired than their opponents.
Good luck to both teams. The rematch at Warren is scheduled for Valentine's Day.
