Re: North Adams at West Union 1-27
North Adams' dominance in this series in particular stems from the team concept at North Adams versus the individual concept at West Union. The NA 6th man off the bench knows his role on the team, where at WU the 6th man thinks he should be starting and leading the team in scoring. Now that statement may not be true every single year but over the past 20 years that is the biggest difference in the two programs in my opinion. At WU, I'm sure all coaches have tried to make there players understand there role but they have too many parents/supporters who tell that 6th man he should be doing this or that and its the coaches fault he isn't.

hook em,
don't you believe dave young would have solved that problem if he was at wu instead of na? or are the parents at na better suited for dave than wu would be?
didn't dave young start out as a varsity coach at whiteoak? why did he leave there?

Sparky,
I think Coach Young has been able to develop that type of mentality in his players because of all the wins and success. If he was at WU, I'm sure he would have done his best but you have to win to make people believe. Yes, I think he would win coaching at West Union. The Dragons have had talented players come through although not as much this season.

Oh now man on the mike, don't get your feathers ruffled, I thought we were having fun, that's usually how you put it I think. I'm sure the folks at West Union would hate to do anything that would make you all feel uncomfortable or inconvenienced in any way so I've heard padded/heated seats and dial from your seat concessions are in the works. Also, the soil judging team can't make it but I've heard they are going to honor all the past coaches at WU that have held the title as long as Dave has been in office.
They will pass out Kyle Brewer bobbleheads too, I sure hope we don't have a game that night cause I for one, don't want to miss that night!

Tar Heel Fan, why are you surprised that it will be Senior night that night? Peebles played at Eastern very early in the season and it was their parents night. I think schools do a lot of different things these days.
Also, most schools are very accomodating and genuinely helpful when it comes to a very special milestone such as 1000th point club so I'm sure if Unger hits his that night they will stop the game and pay honor and tribute. I'm sure he would like to get it at home though.

Whiteoak was prepared to make that tribute to Kraig on Friday night, so I am sure West Union will be as well. Like shljunkie says, most schools do try to accommodate things like this milestone.

I am still having fun. I am way too cool to ever get my "feathers ruffled." Honestly...I don't even know what that means. It seems painful and a little embarrassing.

Re: North Adams at West Union 1-27
I am not saying it is a bad thing, just dont understand it. I guess where I am from we just did not do Homecoming or Senior and Parent night in Rivalry games . It is was going to be the biggest game in town. Homecoming and Senior nights should be the main attention that night (against a non-league team) it is just a under written rule. Just my opinion.

NA by as many as Dave wants. Good Luck to Kraig Unger, I am pretty sure he will get his 1000 in this game. Most likely early off steals from the press.
Dave has a great program established at NA. He wins and thats what people like, so they back him 100%. Until other communities give support like NA, they will continue to go through coaches. West Union is in need of someone to stay there for awhile. With their numbers, they should be winning every year.

How long has Rob Beucler been at the helm in Macon? I know Mike Kennedy began at Whiteoak in the early 90's and then went to Ripley in 2000 I believe.
Re: North Adams at West Union 1-27
If I'm not mistaken Coach Young was the head coach at West Union in the early 80's and left there for Whiteoak.
Re: North Adams at West Union 1-27
Dave Young was not the Varsity coach at West Union. He may have been JV.
