That Eastern team was stacked......and Eric Caudill was still in 8th grade or was he a frosh....I know his brother Larry was big player on that team.

Caudill would've been a frosh in 1988-89.

Being familiar with Eastern Pike a few Marlene Stollings scores might be impressive. I know her junior year I think Eastern beat Jackson something like 59-58 and Marlene had 57 of Eastern's points...also being the record for the old gym at Jackson....now the Jr High gym.

You are correct...20-0 regular season...Lost district championship to a solid Racine southern team....

We averaged 88 points a game that year....
I believe that Larry Caudill was a freshman that year...
Guys like Darren King, Darrell Howard, Eddie Nance were solid varsity starters on that team....

Logan against Wellston and Meigs (old SEOAL) 1976-77 Season

Logan 116 Wellston 45
Logan 100 Meigs 57
Logan 108 Wellston 45

Logan was 17-5 that season with players Jan Myers, Brian Hawk and SEOAL MVP Mike McBroom

That team averaged better than 76 point per game and gave just 47 points per game.

Brian Hawk is my cousin (well, Mom's cousin)....and I'm guessing Mike McBroom is Katie's Dad....she played against my sister in softball.

It was 111-54... I think we had 59 at halftime. I remember wishing that I would have played more than a quarter and a half because I had 23 at halftime, and 19 in the 1st quarter. It's one of those situations that you have pull the starters, when you get a little older you realize these things. Coop, I still think that scoring record would have fell that night.

I knew it was something close to that.......yea I remember you having to sit pretty much 2.5 quarters and we even took the night off that night...lol

The you were banned from their gym the next season, so we hung 100+ on them again... Something like 104-60.

Yea, I remember that now...it was funny because I had never heard of a student section being banned from the opposing school. I remember there were too many of us, so they called us into the all purpose room. And I remember when the rattlesnake said "You guys are banned from Clays gym.....all of you. The principal called and said they did not want our student section in his building, because we were too loud and obnoxious"

That was hilarious...

Fairland 98
Ironton St Joe 18

I was on the losing end of this one at Proctorville in 1956

Russell Ky. 126
Ironton St Joe 89

Russell school record for most points scored in a game. This one was at Ironton St Joe in 1956.

Wheelerburg drilled Fairland when Staker played by about 45 in 1984!Oddly enough we were 1 of their 4 losses that year and they were in the state title game,We beat them 69-68 at home! :lol:Rock Hill also scored 107 on us in 1984,Gordy Collins tied the OVC single game scoring record with 51 points!Score was like 107-76 I think?

Federal Hocking Varsity Girls 87 - OVC 5

I don't remember that OVC game but I do remember:

1989 FH Varsity Girls 104 - Reedsville Eastern 12. Federal Hocking was led by Lori Williams (went on to play D1 at Miami) and Stacy Glass (played at the University of Buffalo D1). Christi Tate (aunt of Belpre's Markie Tate) was a rebounding machine for FH and later played at Salem College in West Virginia.

The 100th point was scored by bench player Jeni Pierson (a freshman at the time) on a foul shot. I think the FH coaches asked the officials not to call any Eastern fouls but... Pierson went on to play at Baldwin Wallace.

Obviously a very nice group of lady basketball players... Lost in the Regional Semi-Finals of the tourney.

In 1978, Oak Hill beat Ironton St.Joe 113-25.In 1979, we payed Norm back by beating the top seeded Oaks 71-63 in Sectional Tourney behind then Soph. David Gagai's 33 points. Can you imagine losing by 88 points to a team one year and knocking them out the next year. Priceless.

John was on the PGA Tour for a couple of years in the later 80's?
