If the Vikes played in the SEOAL, they're record would be much different than 3 losses in 3 years. I know you beat Jackson, and I believe you have Gallia coming up. But what is your record over these past same 3 years against DII schools? Just got beat by a mediocre DII Waverly. I'm not trying to bash VC at all. Combs runs a nice program. But until you beat some quality DII's I think you will always have some critics.

If my math is right. In the past 3 years VC is 26-3 vs D-II/D-I schools. with 2 losses comming from Chilli, and 1 from Waverly this year.

Huntington is the other team that beat VC at home last year with the Kellough twins.

Huntington is D3. ball hound w against D1 and D2 schools.as answering a question about VC's record

Vinton Co. will handle Piketon as long as Piketon dont press!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless Combs finds a way for the boys to get the ball up the floor under pressure in less than 10 seconds!!!!!!!

AND they make at least 70% of there foul shots

This team can outright play defense!!!!!!!!! and rebound!!!

Out of Bounds,
You said "Just got beat by a mediocre DII Waverly."
It was all Piketon could do to pull out a win against the Tigers.

And Piketon is DIII. My point exactly.

I expect a close game, 2 good teams on a netrual floor.I think in the end though Piketon has too many weapons, Streaks by 5...

So your saying they have played 29 games against DI/DII schools over the past three years? That is half they're schedule if you go by 20 regular season games. And they have only lost 3????

I find that hard to believe....but if true very impressive!

VC is DII so if they lose every one will say they are overrated>>>

If they Win all the Streaks will be yelling that VC should have won becasue Piketon is a DIII team!!!

VC will win by 5 becasue they play defense!!!!!!!!!! and becasue they are DII--Ha! Ha!

How is that hard to believe? They've only lost 5 total games the last 3 years. 2 to Chilli, 1 to Huntington, 1 to Zane Trace and 1 to Waverly.

I don't find it hard to believe you have only lost 5 games, that's obvious. That they have played 29 Div I and II teams over the past 3 years is what I find hard to believe.

Out of Bounds,
Piketon barely beat that mediocre Waverly team that just beat VC. Vinton County cannot control the league in which they play. Therefore, if isn't fair to say that if they played in the SEOAL, their record would be much different than 3 losses in 3 years. You could say that about every team. Piketon's record would be much different if they played in other leagues, too.

This should be a good game.

Out of Bounds,
You're making way too much of D2 vs D3 vs even D4.

It is an issue. VC has a good coach and a quality program. And they have built that program from the ground up with a very good youth program. I'm not disputing any of that. What get's me is the comments about string of wins and league titles that they SHOULD contend for every year practically because of they're size and draw of players. Until last year, they had done very little in the tourney and my opinion is because they finally are playing schools that match up. Sorry if I ruffle some feathers with this but it is what it is.

Ace it does make a difference because we all know the politics of seeding in the tourney and most of that is done by record. So put them in the SEOAL and they're not 12-3 or what ever and they're not the 2 seed. So league does make a difference.

I didn't say that league doesn't make a difference. I said that VC cannot control what league they plan in. Would Piketon's record be as good if they were playing in the SEOAL?

Probably not, but they would be a small school. I believe that Portsmouth and Ironton are the only two DIII schools in the league.

Vinton County has been in the TVC since the early 70's, and have stayed loyal to to the TVC. Are their better leagues, that's up to who you talk to. I think the size of the schools were closer than it is now, but I may be wrong. But to say we are bad and stay in the league we always have been, playing smaller schools, is not being fair to Vinton County. When you have a successful program, you have a target on your back for everyone to shot at. Their is usually a cycle in all sports. You eventually have a down swing due to various reasons, coaching, lack of talent, poor coaching at the grade school levels and Jr High, to name just a few. We have been fortunate to have great coaching and support at all the lower levels. Well good luck to Vinton County with their game with the Redstreaks, and good luck to both teams in the post season. I do not make pedictions, that is why the games are played on the floor.

Seeding are over rated. The last seeded team record is still 0-0 as well as the first seeded team record 0-0. Lose 1 and in ten years you can tell everyone you were a high seeded team that got knocked out of the post season by a low seeded team. It happens every year some where in our great state.

The theory of bigger schools should beat smaller schools doesnt hold water, when was the last time vinton won football in the tvc? How about baseball, track? Do they dominate these sports?

Should be a fun game in the Shoemaker center in Chillicothe! Good luck to both.

Dead on right there Kemo Sabe!!

Saturday's game against Piketon should be a dandy, but VC needs to take of Belpre first Friday night, after all a league title IS a league title....even though we play in a completely insubordinate, bush-league, red-headed step child conference according to the SEOAL folk.

What is wrong with being a red-headed step child!
Here is one Redstreak fan that won't cry about VC being a larger school if they win.

And you wont hear me cry if Piketon wins. The Redstreak boyz aint exactly a shabby team either. Should be a great game to watch. Will say VC by 3.
