Just a note but the media has nothing to do with these awards. They never have and never will--nor should they. This is a league award chosen by coaches.

Why would you want a reporter that is here one year and not another and only makes it to a game or two for each team choosing such awards?

Here's another one that surprises me. Ward 3rd team and no mention of Shankweiler??? Don't get me wrong, Ward is a great kid and a good ballplayer, but Shankweiler has been the #2 player on the Burgs team all year right behind Andy and is surely a 2nd or 3rd team selection in my mind.

i don't know how anyone but Valley's coach could be coach of the year/ did any other coach get more out of less? I don't think so/

Although I do agree Coach Villinger should get the nod, I don't think it's a lock. We are talking about 2 other outstanding coaches in Barrick and Persin. Plus, Waverly and Minford had respectable years as well. Should be interesting.

Historically, coach of the year almost always goes to the coach that wins the league, just like player of the year is almost always from the team that wins the league.

Actually, imho, Valley is one of the most talented teams 1-8 in the league. The style is tailor-made for them.
