Norman,

We all know who nearly destroyed the program, he quit after 7 losses. Good thing Fraley and a parent stepped up.

Oh,you mean the interim coach that was hired when they had a coach to take over which was coach Fraley. That was an interesting move made by the board.WOW What a deal that was.Two practices and one game and then bang he was gone and never seen on the sidelines again only to be coaching from the bleachers with all the other coaches as usual. Its also funny that that same interim coach called Kitchen the same night that Kitchen was hired and told him not to trust a certain board member because he is a "Quote" snake in the grass and then they become best buddies. Go figure. It must have been all about their kids. You think :122249 Case closed 66
Now you can call me Norman, jumper,or whatever you want.Doesn't really matter You think you know who I am, but you are paddling down the wrong stream. It just shows even more of your ignorance. You should be

If those kids would have come in the summer like all the others coach would have never cut them despite them being so bad But they never came on any kind of a regular basis. Basically they cut themselves and the mommies couldn't take it and they caused trouble from then on.

Actually, they said they were disappointed with cutting the kids due to the lack of total numbers overall, but it was his team to do what he wanted. I believe they were worried about what could happen(which eventually did) if injuries or other factors further depleted the roster. The Board did NOT interview ANY coaching candidates. The Superintendent refused to allow them to because they voted in favor of his recommendation not to re-new the Principal the previous year and public uproar embarrassed him.

I can see where this thread is going, exactly where the previous thread went, in the dumpster, because of one troll.

Whos fault would that be. Certainly not the ones being interviewed. There was a group appointed for the interviews. The girls coach, athletic director, principal, parent.and the guy that eventually became the new interim coach along with the superintendent. You would think they would know what to ask and what they expected. The interim coach was basically concerned with what can you do for my son. Not the program.

Norman,

Typically in an interview, you don't ask a question to which one would receive an obvious answer. For example, if I were interviewing someone for a job as a postal clerk, I wouldn't ask them if there was a chance they might go postal and shoot up the office. If that did happen, would the person that went postal have the right to say "well they never ask me if I would shoot anybody in the interview" . Of course not.

A person of reasonable intelligence knows you can't play a varsity and JV schedule with 14 players. Thats why the coach wasn't ask that in the interview. And beans is dead on right, the board rubber stamped the committee, and thought they were getting a pretty good coach in the meantime. WRONG. As far as the parent who took over for two practices, he stepped up because when you cancelled the JV season Fraley thought he was out of a job. Do you get it yet???

WOW 66. Shooting up the post office is a great example to give for this situation
I don't think at the time of the interview anyone even knew how many players would even be coming out. 14 wasn't enough but you don't reward kids for not working to get better when they had all summer to do it,and even if they didn't improve they would have been kept because they showed they wanted to be better and were dedicated, but this was not the case in this situation. I'm sure that you, sawdust and frank have never played, coached or ever dedicated yourself to a sport to know what it takes, but each of you have all the answers. You would be better off to drop the whole thing and concentrate on finding you a coach that you can control and tell what to do so you will be happy again :-D

I think everyone needs to move on as this is becoming quite comical at this point. Who needs Days of Our Lives when we can get on seopreps and watch this trainwreck?*

Run him off...HE QUIT....say how you/he want dat he got ran off but da Man.....QUIT PLAIN N SIMPLE....QUIT in da middle of the year. Shouldnt be serprised by dat though he quit when he cut kids who he could have taught to be better players who were just freshman....den he quit on the players n team he kept n tried to put it on da school da didnt support him. Bet not so many schools wants a coach who may Quit during da year on em.

The coaching fraternity is very small. Unfortunately, justified or not, quitting on a team, regardless of the situation, in the middle of the season will make it very difficult to find another coaching opportunity.

Anyone who has ever coached has dealt with difficult parents and the politics of administration. It is at every level in every school....regardless of size, wins or losses. No coach receives enough compensation to put up with what they have to put up with. But I am quite sure that most coaches do not coach for the money.

Hopefully Franklin Furance will find someone who will keep both feet in the fire and do what's best for the players and the program. The old saying is that a program is bigger than any person. I think that this situation proves that.

Champs2006 ---- Very good post. The bobcats will try to find that person I'm sure. Maybe this can all turn out positive for the kids, school and community.

bobcat32, i agree with you about the parents
some parents are trying to become to involved, they need to leave coaching to the actual coach and learn to live with whatever their son is dealt with in playing time. thats just how high school basketball works.

as far as steve willard goes does anyone know the real reason why he resigned from the position?
i heard it was because he thought all the other board members were not doing what was right for the school and for the team...but the is just 1 rumor...
