In leadership alone that's a huge loss forget the fact that he a very good basketball player and an even better kid. Clay good luck from Belpre. Love to see him out there come Dec 16th

You could not find two more quality young men than Clay and Jeremy. They will both be very successful in whatever they do in life. I wish them both a speedy recovery and hopefully they will soon be back on the hardwood.

Ellenwood's wrist is not broken, nor do the tendons seem to be damaged. It will be a while before he is pain free, but he starts practice tomorrow. Thanks for the kind comments. He gets to play.

... Warrnwarriorfan - that is great news about Ellenwood ... not sure if the news came in time to keep Coach Maddox from getting any more gray hair though LOL ... we'll hope that the wrist pain is tolerable and doesn't hinder his hoops play ... getting anxious to see Blane's Blue & White boyz in action this coming season ...

I got to see the first couple varsity quarters before heading to the concession stand. Warren was just too much for N-Y. In the first quarter Warren scored 20+ and N-Y had something like 5 points. I think most of the quarters went that way. JVs rolled too. Don't know about the Frosh.

N-Y had some size and talent. They will win some games this year. They just got steam rolled by a team that should be one of the top groups in the area.

Good luck to N-Y this season.

Warren scrimmages Athens on Tuesday.

Pfloyd: The scrimmage with Athens is at Warren and begins at 6:00 p.m.

I hope you can make it.

Has Maddox had the opportunity to show his "appreciation" to you for naming the Warriors as a top program this season?

... LOL warrnwarriorfan , why NO , Coach Maddox hasn't thanked me yet LOL ... tell him that IF I can have "no hair" he can at least sport the ALL gray look LOL ... not sure if I can make that long trip down to Barlow on Tuesday, was hoping it was in A'town ... but keep those Blue boyz healthy, would like to see a strong run for the Blue into the post season ... not going to be easy with only one team coming out of the Logan sectional , Coach Maddox will have to have his boyz healthy and playing their best ( which should be darn good this season) ... hey you know I don't stick a team on my Elite 8 unless they deserve to be on the list ... even in the Preseason the Blue deserve to be there imo ...

Warren's varsity won all the quarters against Athens last night, although Athens did look to be improved. The reason for the football team's success was clearly visible as many of the Athens players had been in the weight room. Athens played a tough, physical game. They will compete very well in the TVC this year. Athens won some games against Warren's JV, but it was hard to tell what was going on with regard to personnel as Athens only dressed 11 players for the scrimmage. Either they only brought varsity players or they are going to be very, very thin on the bench this season.

Warren did not move the ball as well as I would like to see. In general, every facet of Warren's game needs to be improved in order for this team to move from being a good team to the great team it has the potential to be. If the team plays unselfishly it will go far.

Is the Miller kid playing this year? If so he should get some good playing time in atleast JV. In my opinion he should and will be the best Freshman basketball player they have.

The Warriors are headed to MacArthur tonight for their OHSAA Foundation Game against Vinton County. They've looked great so far, but tonight's opponent will be the best they have seen so far.

The SEOAL has to be the weakest conf. in Ohio this year, in the past few years chili and zanesville have been the studs in the conf. while warren had so many great athletes and players but couldnt win and have had way better teams than they do now have a chance to win the conf. just shows you the weakness of the seoal this year. TVC will be the stronger of the two confs. So VC dont get youre hopes to high just because you beat Warren, keep working hard.

Good luck to Warren this season in the Seoal! Warren has a very good, physical team that hustled and played with a lot of heart. The Warriors had a good following for a preseason game! The Warren faithfull will have a lot to cheer about this season! Good Luck!
