New Boston's Gym.

The infamous step!

I for one regret the passing of gymnasiums with character. Though the step is a bit much in the safety category.

The step was taken out about a year or two ago for safety reasons. But, the Tiger Den is still the toughest place to play. The balcony makes it difficult for opposing teams because the fans are hanging down yelling and many times a player underneath the balcony will throw the ball into the balcony. I think it is a big intimidation factor. It is still the best place to play a basketball game though.

North Adams and Eastern Brown are tough places to play. They both have very good crowds.

They should have left that step in. A player could step up on it to take a shot over a taller opponent from the looks of the thing.

You have to say Reedsville is hard to win at with the crowd noise an Howie stomping and the players hustlin and playing defense and the heat turned up. Teams hate to come there cause they know they are going to lose most of the time. Just ask Ironton when they was ranked number 1 and they almost lost at Reedsville.

I used to love to play at New Boston.
If I can remember correctly, I had three 20+ point Varsity games there.
