NO WAY belpre wins this game by 25..this will be a close game throughout..and i played against jarid bates..lol he is far from 6'4..i would say 6'1 at the most, unless hes grown..i will stick with my prediction and say belpre wins by 5..home court advantage plays a big factor in the win...i just can't see Fort Frye being as good as they have been in years past without Thieman, Arnold and Stevens.

Fort Frye will be alot better come tourny time. This is the perfect matchup to get both teams ready for the season.I still think it comes down to FF making the perimeter shot. Also heard from some Belpre people that Tate will be out again for grades?

Fort Frye better hope he is out but I know for a fact that is not true. Grades came out 3 weeks ago. For the first time in awhile no basketball players had grade issues. Congrats to Coach Parsons well done!

Thats not what I heard.Even if Tate plays Tate loves to shoot I think Sims and Tates are going to wanna shoot and not run offense.

I believe we'll see a better coached ball team this year. Belpre will have in your face defense and an offense that can score anyway....wether it be the 3 ball, a lay-up or down low with the post players. This is the most athletic team they've had for a while. Look for Tate and Sims to have a good night. The Golden Eagles by 10.

Them shooting is running the offense because they both can shoot well and they will both get plenty of opportunities to shoot as well as the other guards ,who can also shoot. These kids have played with each other long enough to know when to shoot and when to pass to one another and running the offense will not be a problem.Shooting is part of running the offense and it doesn't matter who is shooting as long as it is effective, which it will be.

Let this be heard and understood, if this group of players don't want to listen to the coach or run the offense or doesn't play defense they will be pulled and have a little watch and learn time. This coach coaches and the players play. If you think Coach Parsons is just a paper coach, come on out and watch what happens. There is an excitement in Belpre that hasn't been there for awhile. This team has defined goals and desires for what they want the program to be, as for those who say Tate or Sims shoot to much? What are they suppose to do when the coach says take over boys? I've never seen anybody jealously attacked more than these 2, if they played on your high school team you all would have lofty goals and dreams. FF is always tough and I doubt they will show up 12-5 and lay down for anyone, should be a great game.

I agree lookin but I think what everyone who posts about these gentlemen is they take away from the flow of the offense when they come down and call their number. It would be different if they made the extra pass or spreaded the floor enough to make some of those plays but they force mistakes too, and I think thats what everyone is talking about. I could be wrong but it happens. Tate and Sims on any team would be a luxury but if Belpre wants to win and go deep this year they need to involve their players

those who degrade Belpre and are negative about Tate and Sims, i can't wait to see Belpre come out and prove everyone wrong. Coach Parsons is a good coach i can't see one player not liking him. He keeps the players calm and not let them have that attitude that some have had the past couple years. I think people will see a different team this year and will play well against Fort Frye. It may be a close game, but win or lose this will not be the team you have seen the past two years. They have higher expectations this year than last, but don't expect them to not come out and play up to them. They really want a good season and will push themselves and each other to do good and improve.

Don't see how you judege these kids like that? For the past 2 seasons we had no offense to run. We had no game plan to execute. So in that type situation (playground ball) athletes are gonna show up at game time. The kids that have the ability to put the ball on the floor and create have a huge advantage neverless Tate has led the team the previous 2 seasons in assist as well as points scored.
This team will beat people different ways different nights. Sometimes it will be Tate and Sims but with this group of kids you are just as likely see Parsons, Miller, Slattery, or Leasure jump up and bite the other team with a 20 point night.
Amazinghocks your trying to create controversy where there is none. All these kids have been playing ball together for a long time. They know where they fit in and excel in those roles. Weather you like it or not coaches that will play Belpre will gameplan Tate and Sims.

I hope all defenses concentrate just on Tate and Sims, that means Miller and Parsons will average 20 a night

Tate and Sims are both great players, they will decide if belpre basketball succeeds this year. They both have to understand that if they are being doubled then someone is open, and there isn't a player on Belpre's team that can't score. If Parsons tells them to take over the game, that doesn't mean they HAVE to score. Tate sees the floor very well and usually makes the right pass. Miller, Waderker, Slattery and Parsons have all proven that they can knock down the open jumper or take the ball to the hole. I think its a matter of mismatches..Belpre has to find where their mismatches are. I don't think a team has 4 players that can match up with Tate, Waderker, Parsons, Miller, and Slattery on the perimeter. Belpre should be a very improved team from last year. No one better take them lightly. Good luck eagles...silence the doubters

Really??? Is this any team? Or maybe just the teams in the area? Either way you are once again wrong. You are not very realistic are you? I can think of a team in the TVC Ohio that has a better preimeter alone. Maybe you have forgottin about a team you havent beat in your last 8 attempts.....Vinton County. They return 2 All TVC guards and 2 that have a ton of varsity experinece from a team that owned Belpre last year. No doubt Belpre will be better than last year, but to make a staement like this is just, well.............WRONG.

Well, donger i guess we will just have to wait and see, won't we? Belpre basketball was a joke last year cuz the circus was in town with Plummer and Williams runnin the team? LOL, what a joke. I watched Belpre play Vinton County last year at Belpre and i wasn't impressed at all with the guard play of Vinton County..If Belpre plays like i know they can, no team IN THE AREA will be able to defend them.

Gotgame - that is not the situation at all, just expressing an opinion, I am sorry it was taken the wrong way, like i said if you read they are both a luxury to have on a team, as long as they are used right, no need to think i was trying to pose an arguement, Belpre will be what Belpre wants to be.

I truly believe with the pregame planning that I know this years team is doing I know the "Belpre Nation" will be please with what they see on the floor. As much talent as this team has talent alone can't get the job done. Hard work and preparation will be a staple of what this team is all about. They will come to play EVERY night!

This will be a great game to watch. What I dont get is why all the people I talk to from Belpre give FF no respect.I feel Belpre students think Belpre will kill everyone.Belpre players think FF stinks and they are in for a long night.
