Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
Re: Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
If the game was at Fort Frye, i would take the Fort..but since its at Warren, i will take the Warriors, as i said before, by 10..
And i agree with gotgame..when a team only scores 40 points in 32 minutes of basketball, especially a team like Fort Frye, then its not all Fort Fryes poor shooting that night..most of it had to with Belpre's defense..Fort Frye played very well defensively also, probably why Belpre didn't make too many outside shots..but trust me..Channing Parsons, Pat Slattery, Rashawn Miller, Markie Tate and Erik Waderker and even Jordan Williams can all catch fire, and can all be dangerous from outside.
Sorry to get off the topic..Warriors by 10..lol

easterndspy...if fort frye is going to double team venham it could be a long night for the cadets...cunningham,hastie, and ward can catch fire in a hurry and that will cause problems...i also think that will help ellenwood got open 15 footers where he is deadly...venham isn't warrens only weapon so look for the threes to start droppin if they double venham...

Re: Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
Congrats to Fort Frye on a great game played, as for Warren what a lack of imagination on offense. Warren played the way Fort Frye wanted them to play, stay on the perimeter and pass, pass, and pass some more until either a bad shot or turnover. Warren's defense was pretty good all night but man you can't lose the guy your guarding or they will make you pay. Well i guess you take a win anyway you can get one. One more thing whats up that Warren didn't take advantage of the foul situation in the fourth period, Fort had 7 fouls at the end of the 3rd period and Warren decided not to drive the lane and draw fouls and shot some free throws. Fort only had 1 foul in the 4th period and that was a charge i think. Great job Warriors on the victory and on to the next game.
Re: Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
Moon, i was thinking the same thing why in the H!!! is this team not driving to the hoop and trying to draw fouls. Oh well a win is a win no matter how it happens especially against The Fort. Also would like to add the officals call at the end of the game was just down right horrible, i just don't know how they couldn't see the ball A.C. passed was tipped by a Fort Frye player out of bounds.
Re: Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
that was a bad call but on the refs defense i don't think he seen what happened and the ref that did wouldn't make the call...fort frye definitly controled the pace of the game and made the warriors play the way they wanted them to play...my question is why the heck are we shooting threes when we are up with 2 minutes to go...they stood around and passed the entire game except when they really should have...im glad venham finally woke up a little in the second half and took control of the game..i think he led the warriors with 13 nearly half their points...a W is a W and now we move on to another home game against maysville friday night...we better pick it up a little

The JV game was a preview of the varsity....slow paced. Warren won by 2 or 3.
When is someone from Warren's Administration going to step up and either have the Warriors enter the court from the other end or have the visiting team come onto the floor AFTER the cheerleaders are off the court. Someone IS going to get hurt, last night it was a FF player that took a leg kick from a WHS cheerleader. FF's players should not have done what they did by running through the cheerleaders and doing their tip drill but then kids will be kids. That's why the administration needs to put a stop to it.
As for the game, FF played the game they wanted to as they always do. Warren plays with no passion in that slow moving methodical offense...BORING! Always has been. Mismatches all over the court but rarely took advantage.

Re: Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
I agree Warren should have pounded the ball insided during the 4th quarter to get to the line....many points came from outside misses that were rebounded and put back in, Fivecoait and Venham did their thing.....I thought the Warriors 3 quarter press defense and jump defense in the half court was outstanding against while a smaller opponent. and opponent that handles and passes the ball well.....Maddox was masterful in using fouls at the end to prevent FF from taking a 3 pointer and potentially tying the game....you have to hand it to FF, they are so well coached and will win a lot of games in their league play....the Warriors better find some offensive firepower against Maysville this Friday or they will be in trouble!

That was not warrens fault. Fort Frye would not get out of the way and our cheerleaders did what they were told to do. Tell the fort to get manners buddy. The forts cheerleaders were in the way a lot too. WARREN WON, a win is a win, smart one.
If your going to judge go both ways.

Re: Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
I agree wih can n scoop...it is not only fort frye that does this it is every team that plays there...it is always a hastle and nobody ever wants to do anything about it...if i was fort frye i would have done the same thing...just wait til the likes of belpre and marietta come to the collesium...watch out girls!
Re: Fort Frye @ Warren, 12/8
Although very trivial until someone gets hurt, the problem with the cheerleaders could be easily solved by having Warren switch their bench to the other side of the scores table. This way, they would warm up on the side of the court closest to their locker room. It used to be that way until they switched locker rooms a few years back, and they probably just didnt think to switch the location of their bench. Of course, there's more reactions to the switch, like moving the visitors seating section to behind their bench, so the away fans arent behind the home teams bench.
Good job on the win Warriors...

2012: I realize you are only water boy status and don't see things clearly yet. My daughter cheers for Warren. I think it is great that our cheerleaders stand their ground and can't blame FF players for standing their's also. Warren's powers that be need to correct this before someone gets hurt.
As for Marietta: Evan Brockmeier showed some class last year and held his team up until the cheerleaders moved.
