Re: Piketon at Huntington Dec. 11th
A game like this or any rivalry has to be called tight. When you try to let things go, you find yourself in a situation where something is a foul on one end and nothing on the other. Both teams got away with too many fouls for a high school game. Which almost always end up in disaster. Who is mentally tougher?...well It appeared Huntington was on that night, I think the Piketon kids just lost their cool with the slippery floor and physical play. But the History between these two schools has always been weird. 2003-04 Piketon wins the SVC but gets blown out by Huntington, 2004-05 Huntington wins the SVC but loses twice to Piketon and got blown out at Piketon, Last year Piketon wins the SVC goes to the Final Four but loses to Huntington. And there's even more dating back to the 50's.

I just really dont want this victory to be tarnished by "slippery floors" and "physical play" please explain to me how HHS can out physical Piketon? Look at the size differential. And the Huntsmen where playing on the same floor. Defense won that game, pure and simple.

We'll see who's ahead in the league standings in February. Uhrig needs to put together a game plan to beat the lower level teams. Sure, he's good at knocking off the big dogs, but he only has 1 SVC title (and that team had A LOT of talent). I'm still gonna have to go with Piketon in the rematch. Anyone have a date on that?
And it sounds like the Huntington janitorial staff needs to sweep the floors. hehe

[/quote]Don't misunderstand me...no excuses....Piketon got beat....this is just my opinion! The point I'm making is weird things happen when these two teams play. I didnt say either team was more physical than the other....BOTH teams got away with too many fouls for a High School game....Size differential is taken away when you have both Southworth and Brush playing with 4 fouls....But that was not the difference in the game...Piketon had a few chances to win at the end, but didn't...that is the bottom line...no tarnish included!I just really dont want this victory to be tarnished by "slippery floors" and "physical play" please explain to me how HHS can out physical Piketon? Huntington such a talented young basketball team they have the ability at anytime to beat anyone they play. They have there days when huntington is on i believe they are the real deal when there off they will get spanked Dylan gragg has to step up and be a leader HHS builds there energy off him look for fast breaks from Cole addy Cj seymour Clint turner and Kyle deal After that Piketon game Noone will take HHS lightly

Rick "Papa Bear" Uhrig is looking past all of the other matchups and filling out his January 19th scouting report.
