When you say the Posse...are you referring to the Meigs student section?
Listened to the entire game of the "Frog", another great job by the guys at 92.1.......
I really appreciate the station, and the announcer's, dedication to H.S. sports. It is nice to be able to enjoy listening to a ballgame on the radio, like people had to do until the invention of the idiot box. And I mean "idiot box", in more ways than one.
Anywho.......
Nice game by the Iggles. Coach Caldwell has them firing on all cylinders, great defense, very patient offense (ok, some of the time). Great game by Winebrinner (sp?) tonight, he was smokin' hot from the floor.
Congrats to the Iggles and BEST OF LUCK from SD in your game against the Bulldogs. I'm pretty sure you will put a thumping on them. A classic Davey vs. Goliath match up. Go Davey!!!!!!
All I have to say is WOW! If they were playing 5 on 1 against Winebrenner Meigs would have only won by 6. Meigs has some nice ball players, but there is a total lack of discipline and it shows. Eastern was way too good for Meigs tonight. They moved the ball very well and when they are shooting from the outside it is impossible to stop the inside game. I don't see a team on the schedule that can beat Eastern when they are playing like this.
86, I agree. The ball movement was very apparent in listening to the broadcast. Rick Ash did a great job of keeping up with the quick ball movement in his commentary. Of course, he gets a little more excited in his commentary, the faster the ball moves around
They have a very balance team and that shows when you have different guys stepping up every night. What I like about this team is that they don't care who gets the credit and you can see that on the court with the ball movement. Their defense is scary good and their offense is right there too.

I couldn't agree more. They are the most unselfish team that I have seen in a long time. It doesn't matter who scores, as long as they get the win. That alone is enough to make a team very dangerous. These boys are hungry...and it's quite easy to see that. I'm excited for the Athens game!
The Eagles are tough this year. Hopefully they will stay healthy. It is great to read a thread after an Eastern win and not have to pour through posts about how great the coach is, and how the stomp was really effective. It really got old to read how much better Howie is than any other coach in the state after a win, and how Howie just doesn't have the players after a loss. It seems posters on here now are content with crediting the players for their own success. I know it takes a combination of great players and great coaching to have a great team. Looks like others are ready to acknowledge that as well. Now hopefully Eastern can knock off Athens.

Crying in a corner. If they would have someone miraculously won last night, they'd be ALL over this topic. As stated, the team functions as a unit and they win together. It's anyones guess who drops the most points on any given night and our team is smart to just keep feeding the hot hand (ie, Kelly last night who dropped 27..almost beat Meigs by himself). Athens is going to be a great game. I can't stand waiting so long!!
