Ironton has beaten the two big horses in the league so far and it looks like Ironton and Portsmouth might be coming out of the first turn with the lead.

No reserve game played. This was part of the Ironton Classic...

yes there was a reserve game. I talked to several of the kids that played in it. I don't remember the score but I'm pretty sure that we (Ironton) got beat.

Being an SEOAL game, I'm sure there was a reserve game. Maybe Caglewis knows the final score. Thanks.

The reserve score was Warren 60-54....Ironton had some big horses underneath (likely football players) but had weak guard play as their young guards are on the varsity and doing a good job.....The Warren JV played very well against a much bigger team and made clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the win.....Warrior JV now 6-0!

Actually in order to fit the game in it was played at the Middle School old gym and started at noon....and I do mean "old gym".....I think there were shoot-arounds (Oak Hill Academy etc) already scheduled at the high school that morning.....many thanks to Ironton coaches for working this game in as it wasn't in the original plan....

Good job Ironton Coaching Staff! Good job with exploiting the warrior weakness..(Defense). Until the warriors get better with this catagory, it could be a long season for the boys in blue. Warren def in need of some lineup changes from what im seein... not mentioning names but its getting obvious. I guess time will tell but 0-2 start in the league should open some eyes...even though the 2 openers were against the stronger teams. Just think some shooters would help compensate Venham underneath and help Fivecoait underneath with his very strong physical play. If the team played as hard as Fivecoait and Venham everytime out, they would be alot stronger.
Just dont see that in 3 of the 5 starters, maybe they can pass it down or bring in some fresh blood....Desire!!!!!
Cant wait to see the approach the staff takes to fix the obvious.....should be interesting cause its going to take CHANGE.....and thats what people are against it seems, at Warren, because it hurts the non athlete and the kid who doesnt have the great work ethic. So until I get back out to see the Warriors...Go Tigers!

Amen. No player on that floor works as hard as Brandon Fivecoait does and gets no credit.

Fivecoait doesnt get the credit he deserves... He should be in the point position...I was able to watch him in a couple games last year at the point position and he really took care of the ball and very few turnovers. It seemed like the Warrior offense ran alot smoother and under control alot better. Hes just alot stronger and can handle any defense thrown at him. Anyone know why hes not at that position? I think the Cunningham kid would be better as a wing player and wouldnt see as many forced passes...just my opinion. Maybe this would take some of the pressure off handling the ball and a better matchup strength wise. The games I have watched it seems like Venham has to create his own offense from getting the ball up around the free throw line and driving. Otherwise he doesnt get many touches because of the turnovers and outside bombs away approach. So Mr Fivecoait, your hard work and approach is getting noticed, and maybe you can make your fellow warriors play as hard... Team leader??? Looks like they could use one.

I couldn't agree more with the assessment of Brandon Fivecoait. Hardest working Warrior on the floor night in and night out.

Looks like alot of finger pointing going on around the Vincent area. Has Coach Maddox lost control of the reins????????

Explain how us acknowledging that Brandon Fivecoait is a hard worker is a bad kind of finger-pointing?

We lost, ok, whole team needs to get better.

I also agree Brandon is the hardest worker on this team, from his defense(usually the other teams best player) to his outstanding rebounding. I wish he would shot the ball from the outside more, this might free up some other players(Cunningham and Hastie for example) if he starts to shoot and make more. I just don't think teams respect his outside shot. Still early in the season, no one expected perfection from this team. Everyone needs to relax and enjoy the season.
