whats a jeep?

A Jeep is an animal living in a three dimensional world-in this case our world- but really belonging to a fourth dimensional world. Here's what happened. A number of Jeep life cells were somehow forced through the dimensional barrier into our world. They combined at a favorable time with free life cells of the African Hooey Hound. The electrical vibrations of the Hooey Hound cell and the foreign cell were the same. They were kindred cells. In fact, all things are, to some extent, relative, whether they be of this or some other world, now you see. The extremely favorable conditions of germination in Africa caused a fusion of these life cells. So the uniting of kindred cells caused a transmutation. The result, a mysterious strange animal.

Everybody knows that

there was a link on the school site with a history of the box on wheels which would roll out onto the floor with stuff in it which made the team better, in a most magical and mysterious way... like the Jeep.

In the context of the comic strip, Eugene the Jeep was a gift to Popeye's girlfriend Olive Oyl from her Uncle Ben who found Eugene in Africa. The Jeep is a yellow creature about the size of a dog who walks on his hind legs. He has a bear-like head and ears but a large nose, long tail, and protruding stomach. The Jeep's diet consists only of orchids.

As his language is limited to the word "Jeep", Eugene primarily communicates through body language. Eugene always tells the truth, and, possessing high intelligence, is able to help humans such as Popeye and Olive Oyl solve complex problems. He makes use of a limited form of teleportation; he can disappear from one place and reappear in another, and can walk through and on walls and ceilings. These teleportation powers are said to stem from the Jeep's ability to cross into the fourth dimension .

I don't see another collapse in the paint and on the glass by the Tigers. If South Webster is going to beat the Tigers it will have to be with the long ball. The Jeeps couldn't stop Stegman so I don't see how they control Martin, Roback and Kretzer.

So South Webster fans are the only ones on this thread not allowed to beleive in their team?

Got it.

I'll pick the Jeeps in a mild upset. Waverly is the favorite. And for good reason. They have alot of talent. And the Jeeps still need to put 4 quarters together. I know when I watched them they lost some of their offensive identity when the came out of halftime. I still think teams are over looking South Webster. Thus the big 2nd half starts for teams after they realize the Jeeps are not push-overs this year. The Jeeps need to stay with the plan and keep attacking!!

These guys play with heart, play hard defense and won't back down from anybody!
Win or lose, I love the attitude on the team, the new coach is a class act and knows the defensive end of the game the way a top notch coach should. Defense wins titles and coach Atar has the right defensive philosophy to get the program right back on track.

I'm excited for the future of South Webster basketball!

I think this is just the beginning.

Jeep80,
South Webster is undefeated and beat the mighty Pirates of Wheelersburg so I'd say they are the favorites. You better believe in your team, just like we believe in ours.

Swanker Pine,
You're telling me they "LET" Stegman score at will. I don't believe that for a second. As soccerfix said, you're playing one.

Waverly has more talent than Webster and should win the game. Webster is playing good team ball and Scott and Loop don't get enough credit. They are both very good players. Both teams have beat a struggling Burg team. In the end, too much size and athleticism in Waverly. I say Tigers by 12.

Don’t believe in the team? Please! You have no idea the sacrifices I have made to support the teams over the years.

Tiger, I did predict a win if you noticed. :-D

You can say I am cautiously optimistic after the last 2 years. I had no idea there was so much talent out there the way it was wasted by the previous coach. I have truly been caught off guard. I didn’t expect them to be undefeated at this point.
I was hoping for them to be jelling by tournament time and if it cost some losses alone the way to grow then that was fine. They are performing well above my expectations. And although I have only seen one game, the improvement in play I saw from the last two years was monumental.

Maybe you’re right. Maybe the Jeeps are on par with Waverly. If that’s the case then I will truly be excited come tournament time! Unfortunately, I can’t see enough of the teams to know where the Jeeps compare except for posters on SEOPS that have seen the teams. So I guess I thought Waverly was the favorite here.

I have seen both teams play, and I'm not going to make a prediction.......but looking at the game, I think the main concern for the Jeeps is the size of Waverly.......they are bigger than Wheelersburg, with Kretzer, Martin, and Roback.......Kretzer can score inside and out, while Johnston does a nice job at the point. Defensively, the Tigers do a good job on that end of the court......even in the loss to Logan Elm, Waverly did a respectable job on D but struggled offensively.

South Webster has excellent perimeter play, with the shooting of Wes Loop and the point guard play of Connor Scott.......the game may come down to how well the Jeeps rebound, keeping the Tigers off the offensive glass.

Like some, i think Waverly has the advantage in this game due to the recent loss (Oak Hill), the overall team size (Kretzer, Martin, and Roback), and the home court. However, if Wes Loop keeps playing the way he has, the team limits turnovers, and one other outside threat is hot (A. Loop, Scott), SW can pull this one out.

Would also like to say that Coach Ater has done a good job in getting these boys to play hard. Win or lose, I don't think these kids will quit.

Good luck to both teams on Friday and throughout the rest of the season.

Don't forget Wes' younger brother Austin. He's the best shooter on the team IMO. Makes at least 75% of his shots almost every game. Deadly from 3 point land. The teams feeds off of how the Loops are playing it seems, and Coach Ater usually always has at least one of the brothers on the floor during then entire game. Put Wes & Austin together on a night when they are both hot, I feel sorry for whoever they are playing.

Ok, Webster beat Burg at home. Well guess what so did Waverly in a game we the Tigers couldn't buy a free throw. So both teams have beat the "mighty" Pirates. '
Waverly has to not let the Oak Hill game let them down they juts have to take thier anger out on South Webster, which I think they will.
Haven't made the trip out 140 yet to see the Jeeps this season so I can't say a whole ot about them. But Waverly is a hard place to come in and steal a win espescially in conference.
Will be another battle. The Downtown Arena will be packed Friday night-just like it should be.

i didn't mean they "LET" him score at will. The jeeps could have limited him to less points but your not going to stop Stegman regardless of how you play him. Limiting his team mates however, proved to be another story. I'm just going off what Ater said in the post game interview.

also, where does Waverly play there home games at?

Waverly plays their games at the site of the OLD High School. Coming from Webster you'd go up 23. Little Ceasar's is on your right, Super Quik gas station is on your right. Turn right at that intersection and you'll see the gym.
If you go past Kroger or Buger King you have too far.

Where are you from G&B? Little Ceasar's is on the left when heading north on 23.

Swanker Pine. I was listening to the interview on our way home from Oak Hill and heard what coach Ater said about Stegman. Waverly doesn't have Shaq on their team but the Tigers did shut him down. That has nothing to do with the South Webster game Friday night, other than comparing what each team did against the Burg.

Turn right at the traffic light and you'll see the downtown arena. The school is no longer there but you shouldn't miss the gym. The parking lot lights should be on as well, they are pretty bright.

Definition of a TIGER--A fierce and large carnivorous feline mammal of Asia, having a tawny coat with transverse black stripes. I think the Jeep is high on the TIGERS food chain.!! lol
