Waverly @ Burg 1/26
Re: Waverly @ Burg 1/26
Rest assured Waverly has nothing but respect for Wheelersburg. The Burg has lost some close games to some good teams. They lost at South Webster by 3, to Portsmouth by 4 after leading the whole game, and at Waverly by 5. With just a little luck Wheelersburg would be 9-2.
This is another tough road game in the SOC for the Tigers. Waverly can afford nothing but their A game if they want to come away with the W. Foul shots will be critical for both teams.

Now, I didnt mean to start an up roar with my post. lol. It just confuses me when people pick Burg over Waverly, when the Tigers played mediocre & still controlled the game. I mean the Pirates have the athletes for Waverly, but Bendolph wants to run & gun & Barrick's not about to let that happen. So that causes problems, also Sammy J pretty much did whatever he wanted with Bendolph. Stegman will get his, but one man cant win a game & the Tigers understand that. I think the Tigers have the whole "Team not me" down pretty well.

Tiger4 you keep saying Sammy had his way with Bendolph. Maybe he did, but did you see Bendolph limping that night? He had just come off a football injury, which anybody there could telll he wasn't 100%. Sammy is good but it won't be that easy Tuesday.

Re: Waverly @ Burg 1/26
Bendolph was hurt-- Sammy played well against him but he was hurt, now it wasnt sams fault he was hurt and he did what any other good player would do and that is he took advantage of him but we dont need sammy to outplay him, we just need him to run our offense and lead us to a win- who cares who scores more points-(Sam had a great floor game at convo against Chesapeak and I dont think he scored that much) if the two point guards would play to a draw i would be happy with that and hopefully the rest of the Tigers will step up--- this game on the road will be the toughest one yet, it doesnt matter what their record is- this game will come down to the very end.
Tiger 4, i dont know if you are from Wheelersburg and you are posting on here to get them fired up or what but let me tell you i am from Waverly and i respect Wheelersburg and Mr. Bendolph- they are a great team and have a great coach, and Bendolph is an elite player and it will take a great Tiger effort to go in there and beat them- but we did at Valley and we can do it there as long as we have an "A" game.

Re: Waverly @ Burg 1/26
Burg is just not "the Burg" this season. 1 dimensional offense and no consistant perimeter threats. Waverly is better at 4 of 5 positions. Tigers by 10+.
Re: Waverly @ Burg 1/26
For Burg to beat Waverly, if you shut down Martin you get the W but doing that is hard to do Valley held Martin to 2 pts. 1st half and was in the game 2nd half Martin scores 19 pts. and Valley loses by 8.
Re: Waverly @ Burg 1/26
Hope this game dont get ugly early.. Would like to see Burg get a Big upset and much needed W here to get the kids confidence up..

A snow-flake was discovered via telescope in the Waverly City School District atmosphere at 5:30 a.m....2-hour delay! Are you kidding me?

I'm with you bookem!
As for the seating at Burg, not impressed at all with the BRAND NEW gym. I heard Barrick was pretty upset about it too.

Wasn't there some sort of disagreement between the basketball and volleyball staff about how the floor should look?

you are not the only one that don't like the new gym. i hate how it's laid out and IMHO there isn't enough seats. i think there should haver been about 4 or 5 more rows on each side. the ONLY thing i like about the new gym is where they have the cheerblock
