Re: Best Sports Announcer in Southeast Ohio
Chillicothe's finest, Dan Ramey "Voice of the Cavs", (WBEX) is one of the best and most professional announcers not only in the Southeast but all around. It gives me chills to hear his voice during the replays of the State Championship run by the Cavs. However, even in losing times he is the consumate professional.
GO CAVS!!!

Re: Best Sports Announcer in Southeast Ohio
We're lucky in southeast Ohio with Jason Philyaw Ironton, Dobbins, Morrow and Pete Wilson from Jackson, Ramey from Chillicothe plus others.
For years, Bill Grey of Gallipolis was one of the best in southern Ohio, but the Gallipolis radio station does not broacast games anymore. Some local games are aired over the Pt. Pleasant station with Keith Davis and Tom Morgan shairing duties on 99.5.

I guess ole Snuff was a heck of a coach back in the day as well. He's been involved in southern Ohio sports for as long as I can remember.
He could also swing a mean paddle, I can attest to that.

I'm completely remiss to not bring up Rick Ash on 92.1 FM the Frog out of Pomeroy. He and his announcing partner do an absolutely fantastic job of covering HS Football and Basketball games.
I really enjoy listening to their broadcast. And I will echo GW's sentiments about Rollie Swart, he's great as well.

You got love Snuffy Smith. Especially if it's a good game because he gets excited about it. Sometimes a little too excited, sometimes not knowing the score or he loses his score sheet. But he is still awsome.

There will never be another Jim "Snuffy" Smith both as an announcer and as a PERSON. He's the best and all that he has done for the youth of Southern Ohio will never be known. Snuffy keep up the wonderful work and hope you got another 50 yrs in you.

Have to agree about Snuffy, those that do not know him or have never heard him broadcast would never understand. I miss the days of talking to him at Trojan playoff games. Maybe this year.!
