Re: SE District DII Semi: Logan Elm vs. Waverly
I agree that VC would have went to Athens had they been in the lower bracket especially if they used the game plan they used against Logan Elm.
I think Logan Elm has the best chance to win the district, but to say that Logan Elm has no weakness is absurd. IF Logan Elm takes Waverly lightly, they'll get beat (it happens to a lot of teams who look ahead).
With all of the "white death" gone, I look for a lot of people to turn out and see a great ball game.

Dundas, wishful thinking....wasn't VC a 5 seed? Thanks if you think VC could beat Wash Court, then I like Warren's chances of winning this Fri....
Re: SE District DII Semi: Logan Elm vs. Waverly
I have seen CH a few times. They have a very good team, but so does the top 5 seeds at the Logan Sectional, all would have been great representatives at the district. Too bad only 2 advance unlike division 3 where a 2 seed has to beat a 10 seed to advance, but it is all a numbers game. Good luck to Warren and LE, I think both will advance.

Frosh..I really wish VC had gotten to play Warren in the sectional so they couldve shut people like you up.

Warren beats the team that beat VC not once but TWICE.. and they are better than Warren, makes sense..thanks for the laugh. Logan Elm advances here to face Warren in the final.

Dundas does a square peg go into a round hole?? Because I'm sure you can twist something to justify why it would..

Sounds like some of you from Logan Elm are looking past Waverly.

Or maybe it would have shut up you arrogant Vinton people. We can only play and beat who is on our side of the bracket which we accomplished, you guys on the other hand could not do that. Maybe next year?
As for this game seen both teams play twice this year, I will have to say Waverly by 9, free throws late to seal the victory.

I went to see the last LE-FU game...had to say I wasn't overly impressed with LE in that game...I'm sure they didn't play well.....but you can say that about most of these good teams....the teams that are left are all quality teams and who is going to have an off night and who is going to play well...that's who is going to win the game....not some arbitrary "I'm better than you" blurt....I just took exception to Dudas comment about the bracket.....
Re: SE District DII Semi: Logan Elm vs. Waverly
The Logan Elm people posting here aren't looking past anyone. Waverly is a good ballclub that is going to be a challenge, flying high off the win over Chilli. When LE struggles to hit shots, they're very beatable, as Fairfield Union proved.

I'm taking Waverly in this one. Logan Elm plays great defense, but Waverly is a very talented ball club. Good Luck Tigers.

Re: SE District DII Semi: Logan Elm vs. Waverly
Over the course of the last few weeks i have seen a lot of people say that Logan Elm does not impress them. They are not a team that is flashy and quick to catch the eye. They do not have 6'4, 6'5, 6'6 freakish athletes like Waverly. They are a very good basketball team with excellent chemistry. Chemistry is balance and what an inside out game the Braves have. Some people knock on Hauserman but he compliments what the Braves are trying to do well. He clogs up the middle and allows for that tenacious in your face pressure defensive out front. He also is a pretty decent passer out of the post. Balance is the key to the Braves success, they may not pass the eye test with flashy run and gun high scoring basketball but they are a very good team.
Waverly has some very talented athletes and in my opinion if they make this a 94 foot basketball game has a very good chance of winning. With that being said it is important for the Tigers to push the ball in transition but to NOT play fast. They can't let the pressure of LE speed them up and take them away from what they are trying to do. In the last meeting the pressure sped up the Tigers and Harrison saw virtually no touches until the fourth quarter when the teams played pretty evenly. I can't say enough how important it is for Waverly to run their offense through Harrison Martin. The kid just always makes the right decisions with the ball in his hands.

Would you please tell me what Logan Elm fan is looking past Waverly? If you know tell me, because I don't see any.

For some reason, Fairfield Union has given Logan Elm trouble in quite a few occasions over the past few years.
Re: SE District DII Semi: Logan Elm vs. Waverly
Having watched the first game between these two teams I was very impressed with how patient Logan Elm was on offense and how many times they were able to go backdoor on Waverly. The Pritchett kid (spelling...help!) was quick on the back cut and finishes strong. The other night the VC announcers made the same comments about going backdoor. Logan Elm seems to have perfected the art. Needless to say Waverly can't give up easy baskets and expect to come out on top.

Pritchard does a nice job on the baseline cuts. He can use his athleticism to cut the basket for a layup (even a dunk here and there) or he can shoot it beyond the arc. An all around solid offensive player.
Re: SE District DII Semi: Logan Elm vs. Waverly
Pritchard....got it, thanks. I believe he was the player who was also hitting 3 point shots the other night. Isn't he around 6'5" or 6'6"?

Waverly has tickets ($6.00) on sale at the school and are taking orders for t-shirts ($7.00).
I hear they may be selling tickets at the downtown arena this evening.
