Chesapeake vs. Lima Central Catholic (State Semi-Final)
Re: Chesapeake vs. Lima Central Catholic (State Semi-Final)
They look big and thick, but do they have the wind to keep up with the Peake. Panthers seem to able to run all day.

They are already on sale at the Chesapeake High School. Somebody was there today selling them. 8 bucks if you buy them there. 10 if you wait til you get there.

Didn't the OVC also include Buffalo-Wayne and Ceredo-Kenova from West Virginia back before those two teams along with Vinson consolidated into Spring Valley High School in 1998?

Yes, and WAYNE as well. Those were some of the most-glorious times for the OVC. C-K usually won the football title, and Vinson was always a basketball threat.
There were two memorable foot-brawls between Peake and Vinson, as well as one between Peake and Waverly in those times which dwarfed any such bruhahas 'twixt Peake and Fairland. Seems ya couldn't peacefully have Panthers & Tigers on the same field back then!
Anyeay, GO, PANTHERZZ!

Good luck Peake from this Pirates fan.
Don't get caught up in the hype and go out and play your game. Don't just be happy to be there, be there because you deserve to be.

Re: Chesapeake vs. Lima Central Catholic (State Semi-Final)
What's up guys...
First time poster. I've had the luxury of seeing a handful of LCC games this year, and, yes, they are very good. They're not the biggest team, as they have two 6'4" players that play down low, but never at the same time (from what I can tell). Their tallest kid seems content to sit behind the 3-point line and hoist 3's all game, but when he's on HE IS ON! They have a 6'3'' sophomore who is very good. He's a very good rebounder and just a solid all-around player. Not flashy, but efficient.
Having said all that, their backcourt is what makes them a special team. #14, #10, and #12 are exceptional defensive players, and #14 and #10 are very tough to contain off the dribble. They have another guard, #22, who can fill it up on any given night as well. Because of their athleticism, they are very good in an uptempo and half court game. As far as I could tell, they seemed willing to play at any pace and can beat you at any speed. #14 I would say is their "go-to-guy," but their stats show that this is a very well rounded team, with #14, #10, and #34 all averaging around 10-11 points a game, to lead the team! And this is a team that has scored in the upper 70's and 80's on several occasions.
This should definitely be a great game.
