Is Fed Hock D3 or D4? I see where they play in the TVC Hocking?

Well, I guess we won't find out until the end of the month when the board signs a contract with a coach whomever it may be. I wish the team the best! Those boys have been through a lot and they deserve the best! Good Luck Lancers! Make us proud!

The contract is done for Murray, he will be back as Federal Hocking's basketball coach.

Hmm, that's funny. Not what I heard. I've been told that the fact of the matter is that a contract for the 2010-2011 season has not been signed yet, by anyone.

The Lancers are gearing up for a busy summer of basketball - yeah!!!

A few people have given Coach Chris Murray a hard time on here, but its good that he is doing something which has been sorely missing at Fed Hock...getting the players in the gym over the summer. I am sure the hard work will pay off come November.

Congrats and Good Luck to the Federal Hocking Baseball Team!!!

Uhh, why would someone get in a summer league 75-100 miles away from home?? good luck getting kids to commit to that craziness.

Sounds like the Lancers have a solid summer plan with the Parkersburg League, the OU team camp, and some shootouts. Maybe the coach signed up for the distance thing before the other opportunities arose. Driving a long way for basketball beats no basketball!! Good to see a coach who can get kids to shoot hoops in the summer :-D

It would be great to see a local TVC team host a summer league next year, or even several schools could rotate hosting.

I'm going to guess most coaches aren't going to want to play in a summer league with teams from their own league.

Rumor has it that the Lancers did pretty well at the Marietta Shootout. Hope all the effort pays off. Can't wait for the season to start!!!

Wow. Thirty days ago we have a post about "rumors", and nothing since? I can't recall such a dry spell on Preps concerning the Lancer boys basketball program. Very surprising that not a soul has provided any kind of update at all concerning the boys and their summer program.

Anyone have anything to share?

Steely- I was told that the Lancers finished with a 7-13 record at the OU team camp, with notable wins over Logan and St. Charles. They said that Ryan Rex and Chris Saylor both played very well, and also that Shawn Parsons had some games where he lit it up from behind the arc. I believe that the Lancers did not do as well at the Parkersburg league. However, I was told that the only schools that the Lancers played from the area were Waterford, and Southern.

I think the league is going to be very competitive this year, but I also think that the Lancers have just as good of a chance as any to win it. Also- I was told that the Lancers have only 4 non-league games the entire year- vs. Morgan, vs. Marietta, @ Alex, and at @ N-Y. So it looks like the schedule should benefit them as well.

I think the Lancers have a good shot at being a contender for the TVC-Hocking title this year. A lot of young talent and a good group of young men!!!

I agree with Athens 78. I'm sure that Murray will coach the Lancers Varsity next season.
