South Gallia has only beat Eastern 3 times I believe. Twice in 2005-06, and once in 2006-07.

i will have to say belpre will be the sleeper of the hocking. even though they lost 8 or 9 seniors (im not real sure), they will have a lot of talent. if they can play together unilke last years team, i believe they will have a very sucessful season. i predict they finish in the top 3.

If you went to school there and played there how is it not your school?

Well, I never knew people claimed schools these days. I also no longer live in that school district and there are plenty of people who went to one school but follow others. Just because I went there doesn't mean I lay claim or want to lay claim to it.

Monster is still one of the best to ever play basketball for the Rebels. I think SG should come to terms with him because he was and still is IMO a big part of Rebels basketball.

Thanks for the kind words Rebels on 3 but I believe that relationship is WELL beyond fixable. Its not as much South Gallia as it is a select few people at South Gallia and some other so called "superiors". I have moved on to bigger and better things and to be honest with you, its nice to get out and see all these different schools and games instead of knowing what 10 games you will be going to year in and year out.

The TVC is a much better Basketball conference than it is at Football. Rebels haven't held up very well in the TVC for Football and I don't know if Basketball will be much better. I don't know what all the other teams in the TVC have so I will base this on what I have seen on here. From the looks of the schedule, the Rebels open up with one of the favorites to win the league and it don't get much easier after that. They play Wahama @ Wahama after that and SG has never played good at Wahama and then play Trimble, Fed Hock, and Eastern. Those teams are usually always 1-4 in the Hocking. Then the schedule is real tough Jan 18 - Feb 11 with 4 out of 7 games being away at schools that will all be near the top of the league come end of the year. So, after all that, I can see South Gallia going anywhere between 5-11 to 8-8. If they went 8-8 I would call it a successful first year in the TVC. Like I said, I think everyone that follows the South Gallia program will learn that they really don't like the whole TVC thing after all. Like I said though, this is all based on what I hav read on here and what these programs have done recently.

If the Rebels do go 8-8 in the TVC I think your right it would be a successful year. The big problem I see with SG is depth, if they can get that fixed I think they could win a few more TVC games.

I hope you are right Rebels on 3 just for the kids sake. This Junior class has been hyped up ever since they have been in Jr High, I would hate to see them flop like the '03 team.

Ahhhhhh yes the 03-04 team, I remember them quite well...... Had a trip to the convo wrapped up and then pissed their pants and blew a big 4th quarter lead against SE in the sectional final. However that team started a streak of about 3-4 seasons of VERY competitive Rebel bball and should be commended for that. It's just a shame some of the "ADULTS" in Mercerville treat a former Rebel athlete the way they have monster.

After the 03-04 season the next three years combine the Rebels went I think 47-13 in the regular season, with back to back sectional titles one over the TVC champs Trimble.

I think Eastern will win the Hocking title this year with Belpre, Trimble, Southern, and maybe Fed Hock right behind them.

That is because we had a player have to sit out the first 2 games that season due to ejection the last football game that year and eastern was one of them 1st 2 games that year ;-)

1. Federal Hocking- The Lancers are young, but have talent. I think this group of kids will get FH back to their dominant ways in the TVC.
2. Trimble- I thought Trimble's JV looked solid last year, and with Guthrie back the Cats will be tough.
3. Waterford- Again, a JV team last year that had some promising talent.
4. Eastern- With Howie at the helm, anything is possible. Coach Caldwell can take sub-par talent and turn it into a decent team, which I think will be the case this season.
5. Wahama- Don't know much about them, but if they have any kind of Basketball tradition compared to Football, look out.
6. Belpre- Team of good athletes.
7. Southern- Tornadoes lost a lot. I don't see them being much of a factor.
8. South Gallia- Despite what Rebels on 3 believes, I just don't see it.
9. Miller- Another bottom of the barrel season for the Falcons

Brutus,
Eastern won that game by 30 so I don't really know if one player would have made much of a difference against one of the best teams Eastern has probably ever put out in basketball.

And as far as the expectations comments go, do you want me to lie and say South Gallia will probably go atleast 14-2 and win the Hocking the first year there or be realistic about it?I think alot of people in Mercerville would be happy about an 8-8 season in the TVC since the Rebels didn't win a game against a TVC opponent last year. Like I posted before, I hope the Rebels and coach Saunders have tremendous success in the TVC and win it but right now I just don't think they are there. I hope they prove me wrong, let's come back to this thread at the end of the season and see how far we was off.
