I was really impressed by the point guard, not sure of his number? But not so much impressed by London.

Point guard is Tyler Manion #14. He is a spark plug and continues to improve. The key to the Cavs defense is London and unfortunately he is not given credit for what we don't give up in the paint. If shot block and shots altered stats were kept, he would set many records. He is worth 10 plus points per game in what he does not give up.dennisdrinksbud wrote:I was really impressed by the point guard, not sure of his number? But not so much impressed by London.

I'm pretty sure shot blocks are taken as a stat. I'm also pretty sure london had 0 blocked but altered 3 or 4 shots to not go in. He's very athletic but not yet strong enough. I think who dennisdrinksbud is talking about is 32 zach johnson i believe? He often brought the ball up and created offense for Chilli. I was impressed by the size of the Serbian kid. I knew he was tall but I didn't expect what I saw. I think the problem for him over here in America is that he must play a post where for his national team he plays more of a perimeter position, but that's just me. It's not necessarily a problem but it lightens his scoring total compared to what he did for the Serbian U18 team.hitchbone64 wrote:Point guard is Tyler Manion #14. I was impressed with the whole Chilli team. The first quarter was a thing of beauty with six players scoring. Manion led the scoring with 7 points on three tough aggressive layups. Their interior passing was great. Beverly was wonderful to watch playing on the baseline, measuring what was the right play to make when he got the ball and when a short baseline jump shot was in order, he drained them. Johnson was very smooth and effective. Manion got a little adamant on defense insisting on trying to play defense a certain way and it cost him being in foul trouble after the 1st qtr.
Marietta was fortunate to be within 15 points tonight. They played well. Riley and Grosel seemed to be on with their trey stroke. Kriechbaum wasn't and Lennington didn't get to try any until late. For Marietta to win the way Chilli played, all four needed to be on with trey shooting and not take any forced shots, they needed to play with the lead and make foul shots, and Williams and all the rest needed to stay out of foul trouble. And if they did all that which would have been a major task, the outcome would still be in doubt pending how they were able to handle Chilli's best pressure defense, something they didn't do against Warren when they pretty much had the rest of the bases I mentioned covered except foul shots.
