so they'll win by 20 on a neutral court, yet they lost to Caldwell on their home court. Not quite sure I see the logic in that one. I know River has gotten better as the season has went along, but so has Caldwell.RatPack wrote:i drain 3's,
river by 20 on a neutral court. river simply doesn't play good @ caldwell. never has never will. just something about that gym

Don't get carried away... Sectional draw isn't until Sun. and there's as much of a chance that this matchup won't take place as the chance that it will. Don't start throwing punches, we might not even be in the same fight.

I understand what your saying. Caldwell would have River's full attention if they were to meet.

Just cause the players want to play River does not mean the coach for Skins will think the same.

So anyone hear the Beallsville vs Barnesville score from tonight? Also I think Beallsville should only be judge on games played without Sam Jackson since he is no longer on the team.

Whoever Caldwell ends up playing, I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick up the W. They've split with River, Frontier, and Beallsville I believe. I'm just glad this program finally has some life back in it.

A team is not one player. Most times , unless its an obvious late-season hot streak, a team will be judged according to their body of work over the entire season. You can't put a team higher than they deserve because somebody quit. That team is now what they are without him. He's not injured and coming back healthy for the tourney. He quit... a while ago.

Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
Beallsville should be the six seed but they do have a better record then Caldwell and Frontier because they play a bunch of bad WV teams like Paden City, Valley, etc. They came back from 21 down to beat caldwell at beallsville, they beat frontier there too but were hammered by both when they had to play outside of their crackerbox.
Caldwell beat River @ River early in the year, led by 12 most of the way, won by 5. Second time was a back and forth game that River pulled out by 3 at the end, the skins match up well with River but would not likely want them in the first round. I could see River/Frontier and Bridgeport/Caldwell in the first round and River/Caldwell rematch in the sectional title game. Should be a good one either way.

Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
Caldwell has been playing better lately, although in the win/loss column it may not seem like it. In the Beallsville game, I was told they were pretty much in control, until something with the coaches happened, and a ridiculous amount of fouls were called on them late in the game. I'm thinking like 15+ midway through the 3rd quarter and on. It was in a thread on here, just can't remember which. Then they were up by around 15 on Trail in control pretty much, and then late in the game, everything just broke down. Should have won that one too. Then they finally picked up a W against Frontier. It seems they struggle late in games, but hopefully they can get that fixed.

Re: D-4 Eastern District - Union Local sectional
Caldwell plays most of their games above their talent-level, which is a testament to their head coach. River was very bad in both games. Definitely the worst two performances of the year for them. They lost one and tried to give the other one away. Caldwell has not seen the River team that played the other 16 games of the season. The one that is a very good team, which is evident by a 12 win season and an OVAC tourney berth. Anybody that thinks that River is less than a quality team, is taking them far too lightly. They are even better now than they were two weeks ago. The MC loss last night was to a team that played at an even higher level of skill than River. MC has beaten the 3 best teams on their schedule in succession over the past 7 days, two of them on the road. That should tell you all you need to know about MC and River playing a highly competitive game vs. each other.

Not sure how you can say Caldwell has been getting worse? I mean, they did just beat Frontier not to long ago.
