I am sorry but I think anyone who puts Warren above Chesapeake needs better reasoning skills.

If you vote on a body of work you have lost 3 games and Chesapeake has lost 1.

If you vote on recent production, well Portsmouth who is very good don't get me wrong, has built a case for the #1 spot because they have won 10-11 straight, well Chesapeake has won 10 straight by an average of 36.5 ppg. Warren lost to a very good Chili team, but then turned around and got it handed to them by Portsmouth, which is your best win on the year, and that came without Portsmouth's floor general. I don't put a lot of merit into that win. Chesapeake also destroyed Gallia by 50+ while you struggled to get by. Warren and Chesapeake had 1 like opponent in Athens and the results were similar. There is nothing in my logic that will allow me to put a 3 loss Warren team above Chesapeake, and if we are counting close losses, well Chesapeake has 1, and it came to a team I am willing to be is as good as any team in this top 8 imo by a single point. The best player I have seen this year is the WIlliamson kid from Logan, not including Oak Hill Academy etc.

I feel some here are only voting for a conference rather then who is the best teams, but I trust people who do see all these teams (pfloyd) and he has Warren down towards 6th-7th range. None of this is smack talk, they are facts, you have lost two out of three down the stretch and hand to hang on v a below average team (Rock Hill beat Gallia by the same amount).

I don't normally agree with peake's logic(the constant bringing up of blowing out Gallia, LOL) but yeah, I'm not sure how you can have Chesapeake below Warren at this point. They lost 2 home games down the stretch, one rather convincingly, while Chesapeake is currently undefeated against teams from the great state of Ohio. I know that the SEOAL is head and shoulders above the OVC, but there's nothing they can do about their conference affiliation for this season.

Not only have they done pretty much all that they could do this season, but they also went to the Schott and the Final Four last season! They are blowing out the teams that they should blow out and have been very impressive in all of their games and I think will continue to be very impressive until at least the District Finals.

Ok Peake, maybe you have noticed that Ohio State has lost 2 games lately, yet they are still ranked number 2 in the A.P. poll where 1 loss San Diego State is 6th. Wow how can that be you say? Same way that I can put Warren above Chesapeake, OSU has had to play in a tougher conference and has bumped them up, the same as Warren has. Just my opinion, anyway don’t get so bent out of shape about it.

As for voting for a conference, if it is happening I’m sure it is unintentional. You can’t tell me that this doesn’t happen in other polls though also, you don’t think AP voters in SEC country don’t vote for other SEC schools? Of course they do.

The fact that you are trying to compare Chesapeake to San Diego State makes your entire post moot.

Chesapeake went to the final four last year and returned 90% of the entire team, while also adding E. Kennedy.

Ohio State also was helped by the fact that every single team aside from the team two spots behind them lost, and they just happened to lose to the highest ranked team of all the teams that lost.

They have lost two of the last three, and one by nearly 20 points on their home floor. Then beat a loaded Gallia team by 4 or 5. Really sounds like they are just playing great basketball.

Anyways, it doesn't really matter now, and the fact that you said that you DO vote based on conference just lets me know all I need to know about how you vote. When a team is good they are good regardless of league affiliation. Oregon had no problem climbing to #1 or #2 considering the poll despite a down conference.

Ok, first of all, where did I say that I voted for a conference? I didn’t what I said was you know that happens in all polls. I agree with you that a team is good regardless of conference; however won’t you agree that a team in the good conference has more opportunities to prove that they are a quality team as they play more quality opponents? Isn’t the grind of a hard conference worth anything? Obviously others think it is why else will the Big East get so many teams into the tournament? My point is , any it’s only my opinion and I can be wrong but I don’t think the Panthers have one loss playing a SEOAL schedule.
Warren loss to Chillicothe by one carries weight still. You want to say that Warrens victory of PHS means nothing because it was without AB. You also like to point out what Chesapeake did last year, well let’s see Chesapeake also lost to a PHS team without AB. Let’s see a win against a PHS without AB, sure seems better then a loss against a team without him. Remember you’re the one that wanted to bring last year into this. I know PHS fell on their face in the tournament, personally I don’t think anything from last year has a bearing on this year but you brought it up.

yeah 32,16,6...a poll is just a poll and has no bearing on anything. However, tournament seeding DOES have a huge bearing on things. Warren is fortunate that the drawing was before their terrible week of 2 losses and one near escape with a team they should have blown out of the gym. Whether seedings are based on record or body of work, Warren should have been no higher than #2 (possible #3) which would have placed them in a much more difficult position. They still better play serious ball Saturday if they want to go to the Convo.

First of all what happened last year has absolutely nothing to do with this year. The only reason I brought up the final four was because you were trying to make an analogy making SDSU sound like Chesapeake. Chesapeake can make a claim for being the best program in all of SEO in the past 20 years. So trying to compare SDSU and Chesapeake means nothing to me.

Tough losses don't factor in, I'm sorry. Only talk about the ones you win. Yes, Warren lost to Chillicothe in a close one, then turned around and got it put on them by Portsmouth. A mark of a great team is consistency. In their first sectional game, you see it again, they are struggling down the stretch, just getting by Gallia and now Athens. I don't think it is hard to comprehend. So take away the one win over Portsmouth without their complete team (and I don't care what Chesapeake did against portsmouth last year and bringing it up isn't strengthening your case) then their biggest win is a win over your 4th place team in your conference. Sorry I am not impressed enough to put them over a 1 loss Chesapeake team who beat every Ohio team they played this season.

Yes teams in a good conference can prove it more so to speak, but Warren didn't, they lost to the top two teams above them and then struggled with two below average teams. In Chesapeake's final week they went 4-0 with two 40+ wins over a 13-7 Fairland team.

and 32 no one is dissing your team, you lost two out of your last 4, one being a blow out, and then struggled against two below average teams. Those are facts. There is no dissing going on. If Chesapeake struggles with River Valley and Coal Grove then people on here would go nuts about how Chesapeake isn't really that strong, despite the fact Chesapeake's wins over ironton and wheelersburg look far more impressive to me then wins over marietta imo.

Ok, we both agree that last year and I’m quoting you “has absolutely nothing to do with this year”. With that being said PHS beating Chesapeake, means nothing and Chesapeake making it to the final four means nothing, in regards to this season.
Since last year and again I’m quoting “has absolutely nothing to do with this year” then my SDSU example works perfectly. SDSU has one loss, Chesapeake has one loss. SDSU plays in a weaker league then team ahead of them, Chesapeake plays in a weaker league then the teams I have ahead of them. Now you want to talk about a win against Athens because they didn’t blow them out? Well personally come tournament time to me all that matters is the win, it’s win and advance mode now.
To me the PHS win is still a good win for Warren. PHS isn’t as good without AB, but even without him PHS is still a very good team, that would rival most of the Panthers wins. Marietta is a good team also, but having to play in a league with PHS, Chillicothe, and Warren they end up 4th. That just goes to show the strength of the SEOAL. Marietta would win most of the other leagues in the area, and does no worse than 2nd in any of them in my opinion.
No matter what we say here I don’t think either one of us will convince the other. We will wait and see how the tournament goes, good luck to the Panthers. If PHS and Chesapeake both play to their capabilities we should see an OVC SEOAL game in our future. Best of luck.

Again, and I hate to be rude, but comparing Chesapeake to SDSU makes you clueless.

Chesapeake can again make a claim as THE BEST PROGRAM in all of SEO in the past 20 years. Please stop telling me how SDSU, who is a flash in the pan, is comparable to Chesapeake. Yes the OVC is not strong, but the OVC produced the #1 seed in the Athens region so please stop. No one can compare to the big bad SEOAL. How the sisters of the poor OVC ever produces a final four team makes my head spin.

Without AB Portsmouth started 4-3. I am not going to give Warren much credit for beating a team that was not full strength.

We will never know how good Chesapeake would finish in the MIGHTY SEOAL, so all we can do is compare resume's, and I have no problems with Portsmouth or Chillicothe being in the conversation with Chesapeake, but Warren, especially as of late, just makes me laugh.

Oh, it is obvious that I have clearly upset you. Remember that this is only a poll that means nothing and my and your opinions mean absolutely nothing.
Sure Chesapeake could make the claim as the best of the last 20 years. Portsmouth can make the claim as the best ever. The thing is if last year doesn’t matter why do the other years? That’s right they don’t were talking about right now. It’s about the teams on the court this year, so don’t give me this flash in the pan stuff when I use SDSU to Chesapeake. You can’t have it both ways, only this year matters (which is the way I believe). So just as SDSU has a good record but come from a weaker conference then others so does Chesapeake. Don’t tell me about the last 20 years, or even last year because you just told me those don’t matter. So if only this year matters as we agreed, then Chesapeake’s successful history doesn’t matter just as SDSU unsuccessful history doesn’t matter. Which means they are a great example.
Chesapeake beat Burg so did PHS without AB, the same PHS that lost to Warren without him. After all PHS without AB started 4-3 as you so kindly pointed out so if a team as bad as 4-3 could do it well guess that’s not that impressive. You can’t have it both ways again either PHS was still good without AB, or Burg isn’t that great of a win.
Ironton at one time I thought was a quality win for my Trojans as well, however the Tigers have since lost some of their luster. They are still a very good team but nothing amazing. They are very dangerous team now.

Fairland- is 13-7 ok not a bad mark but against their schedule not exactly impressive either.

As for Warren the PHS victory ( but without AB, but the same PHS without AB that beat your quality win Burg, so which is it?)
Marietta twice, Marietta is 14-6 with all 6 loses coming against what I consider to be the top 3 teams. I would bet if nothing else all their loses come to teams that 90% still put in their top 10.
Fort Fry 17-3 yeah I’m not overly impressed by this one either but if were using Fairland, were using Fort Fry.
Looks close but I still give it to Warren. Plus the Chilli lose means something to me whether it does to you or not.

I also never referred to the OVC as the sisters of the poor. I said they were a weaker conference then the SEOAL which they are, and should be as they are smaller schools. There is no disrespect in that just stating facts, the SEOAL currently has 2 ranked teams in the AP, Chesapeake is the only OVC team just an example.
Next as for Piketon I think they are a very good team. A very good team who lost Vinton County, the same Vinton County that was beaten by Warren and SEOAL last place Jackson.

Lastly I would like for you to please refrain from the insults. I have not resorted to name calling and I would like to ask you to do the same. I assure you I am far from “clueless”. Just because someone has a differing opinion from them does not make them clueless.

But they wouldn't understand having a tough schedule, sense they are not in the SEOAL.

Using your logic the win over Ironton should have been your best, considering their schedule and who they lost to and all.

Since PHS, Chillicothe and Warren are 3 of the top 4 teams, yeah those would have been great wins for anyone on the poll, and since those are the only loses Marietta has had I would say they would be the next tier there as well. I know you are trying to be sarcastic but you failed because the statement is true.

None of those are a 1 point loss to one of the top teams are they? If Ironton would have lost to PHS, Peake, by a close margin, Ironton would be in my top 8 still, but they didn’t that couple with the loss to Manchester took a lot of the quality from Ironton.

Again I would like to ask you to refrain from trying to mock me and the SEOAL, because I have a differing opinion from yours. There was no need for you to try and be funny by making your mock poll votes with only SEOAL teams.
