Re: SHL: Tournament Time
Dragons played hard, some positives for sure. I see some young talent on the roster as well. Coach Rhymer had them playing very hard, especially defensively. Showed great discipline on offense, and worked well in it. I'd imagine Coach Rhymer and West Union should be optimistic as to what is coming back. Any thoughts?

I wouldnt count out Whiteoak, I think they are very capable of beating Green and Symmes Valley and earning a district final match-up with Manchester.jchitwood wrote: The #1 Manchester Greyhounds (0-0) have expectations through the roof. Last year they smelled the regionals, now the Hounds faithful are hoping for State. They definitely have a clear path to the District Finals. They're likely to face #4 Trimble or #5 Racine Southern in the district semis. I don't know much about either team, but Trimble has been outright beaten by Reedsville twice this year. Given that the Hounds were a bucket away from beating Reedsville, I like the odds of them hitting the regionals. Once their they're likely to have their hands full with #2 Symmes Valley, or #3 Green.

I hope so. That would be awesome. Whiteoak's beaten some good teams, but they've been beaten by some bad ones as well. I'd like to see them get momentum and make a deep run.theuglytruth wrote:I wouldnt count up Whiteoak, I think they are very capable of beating Green and Symmes Valley and earning a district final match-up with Manchester.

Congrats to the Indians on their third sectional title in 4yrs. Blake finished the game with 27pts followed by Andy with 25, Jake with 8, and Trent with 8. Tyler only had 2 or 3pts but was playing through illness which also limited his practice time this week. Overall it wasent a very pretty game but a win is a win...now on to the Burg!
As a side note....I believe Blake is now sitting at 2156pts for his career(27th most all-time).

Re: SHL: Tournament Time
Two SHL teams in the district so far, two eliminated by other SHL teams.
SHL is now 3-3 in the tournament.
SHL is now 3-3 in the tournament.
Re: SHL: Tournament Time
Lynchburg brought perhaps their best game of the year and played hard.Good game mustangs.
Re: SHL: Tournament Time
Also congrats to Peebles on their 2nd 20-win season in a row. First time that's happened (for boys) since 1984.

Re: SHL: Tournament Time
Its a shame LC couldnt get the chance to play a team like Paint Valley instead of Peebles to get out because that would have been an interesting game with PV.
Re: SHL: Tournament Time
i could be wrong, but i believe c.a.p.e. beat the 84 team which would put them at 19-1 reg. season.jchitwood wrote:Also congrats to Peebles on their 2nd 20-win season in a row. First time that's happened (for boys) since 1984.

They went over the twenty win mark in the tournament.luvit wrote:i could be wrong, but i believe c.a.p.e. beat the 84 team which would put them at 19-1 reg. season.jchitwood wrote:Also congrats to Peebles on their 2nd 20-win season in a row. First time that's happened (for boys) since 1984.
Re: SHL: Tournament Time
i believe chitwood said back to back seasons, not tournament, as it generally considered a new season of play, everyone is even when starting.TribeManiac10 wrote:They went over the twenty win mark in the tournament.luvit wrote:i could be wrong, but i believe c.a.p.e. beat the 84 team which would put them at 19-1 reg. season.jchitwood wrote:Also congrats to Peebles on their 2nd 20-win season in a row. Re: SHL: Tournament Time
Then that would disqualify our last two seasons as well because we finished both at the 19-1 mark.luvit wrote:i believe chitwood said back to back seasons, not tournament, as it generally considered a new season of play, everyone is even when starting.
Re: SHL: Tournament Time
I meant total wins in the season, combined with tournament. I've never seen a high school season record separated into season and tournament...otherwise no team could gather more than 20 wins a season.
Re: SHL: Tournament Time
i am not trying to make your statement wrong, peebles has a very good team, and i am glad to see that. just that ohsaa allows a 20 game reg. season, then post season tour. yes, your total record is considered at the end of post season play, yes you can have a reg. season at 20-0, then hope that you can have a big run in post season play. i hope that plays out for peebles. maybe end up with a 25-1 overall record!jchitwood wrote:I meant total wins in the season, combined with tournament. Re: SHL: Tournament Time
This could be a big year for tournament runs. Ripley, manchester, peebles, fairfield and white oak could all see the distict finals. And a few should be a contender for the Schott.

I've been thinking the same thing.shlfanatic wrote:This could be a big year for tournament runs. Ripley, manchester, peebles, fairfield and white oak could all see the distict finals. And a few should be a contender for the Schott.
