With no seniors Southern I would say Southern has had a fine season and will be a force next year. Is there any story (info) as to why there are no seniors this year? That is kind of strange that there wouldnt at least be 1 or 2 who stuck with the program.

Southern actually has one senior starter, the only senior on the team. The 2011 class only has about thirty some kids in it and Zack is the only student out of that class to play high school basketball.

Re: 3/10 District Semi Southern vs Manchester
This game is definitely going to be the better of the two Div. IV games in Athens on Saturday. In my mind they are the two best Div. IV teams in the southeast district. It is a shame they have to play each other. It sounds like there was some funny business going on during the seeding this year, it is a shame that politics and agendas can keep the two best teams from advancing on to the Regional.
But back to the game...Manchester is very talented and beat some good Div. III teams this season so it would not shock me if they win this game. However, for my money Coach Caldwell is the best Div. IV coach in the southeast district...and its not even close. A lot of people overlook what he did at Eastern Pike because he was playing with real Div. IV players while teams like Clay and South Webster had at the time what appeared to be potential future pros. Coach Caldwells teams play a great brand of basketball and make winning plays. I love watching them play, and the win against a very talented SW team last year at the Convo is perfect evidence of Caldwells great coaching.
Like I said wont be surprised if Manchester wins but going with Southern.

would manchester prefer a rematch with a familiar whiteoak team or would they prefer to see a new face in south gallia? i believe whiteoak and manchester split with both winning at home. if they meet again which team will benefit more from the big floor?

I must say for the Southern team, they never give up. and were closing in with little time left, I believe the made it to 6 points? I'm sure coaching is some of it. Can't wait to see how this team does next year. Most of them, this was their first year of full varsity play.
Congrats to Zack Manual, best to you in your future
Did anyone notice the lack of fouls and walks called? I'm for letting them play, but this was almost laughable. I know there were 10 each at the end of the 2nd half. It was spread evenly though.
