Will students be allowed to sit behind either bench tonight? Last year students were told where to sit in Lucasville.

Ironton by 20. Ironton has several stand outs that do not play football and it is at Ironton. I say it should be a 20 pt game

This one is over 84-50 Ironton...."no contest"...The Tigers are the real deal and they looked hungry!

pembrook burrows III wrote:Anyone who thinks this game will be an Ironton blowout doesn't remember last year's game at Valley. Valley had the Tigers on the ropes for much of the second half, before faltering late. You may also recall that Valley, not Ironton, gave Portsmouth it biggest Southeast District/Region scare before losing to the Trojans by only 4 at the Convo. Granted, Valley lost some key seniors off last year's squad, but the Indians have the advantage of one full game under their belts already. A team always makes its biggest improvement between the first and second games. Plus, Ironton has been banged up in the football-shortened preseason, so the Tigers will no doubt still be working out the kinks. I look for a really good, early-season gut check game for both squads.

Well , if ironton gets better between its first and second game , i feel VERY sorry for teams to come, especially if valley is as good as everyone says......

Congrats to the Tigers on the big win. The Indians will get better as the season progresses and I still expect a very fun season out of them. Best of luck to both teams this season.

I'm still waiting to be right some of the time   I figure I'm bound to get lucky sooner or later 8)

In all seriousness, though, I still think this Valley team is going to be very good before all is said and done. I just hope they are able to make strides early. Ironton is definitely a handful and they are going to be a blast for fans to watch all year as well. 8)

The score did suprise me thought it would be alot closer since it was so early in the season.
But wow Ironton may just be the real deal they seem to be loaded with talent and chemistry are they as good as what they seem only time will tell but a great win tonight against a talented valley team.
Congrads Tigers on the first step to a great year.

Looks like it was ALL downhill after the first quarter. Nothing to be ashamed of, got beat down by a VERY good team. Get up, move on, keep playing! As Jeso said, this can still be a very good ball club. I stand by my statement

"3-3 after the 1st 6, I'll be happy with". 1-1 right now, so we'll see how it plays out.

Wasn't able to go to the game but saw Rolfe had 11 points for the Indians. How did he look in the game tonight? I'm excited to see him progress through his high school years.

Valley will still be a factor in the district tourney. They don't have their basketball legs yet. This was a great game for the Fighting Tigers draw at the end of the season. When you don't have the blind loyalty of league friends, you have to go above and beyond to get a top seed.
