Jack Trainer was it for me. Dude really worried me sometimes. Looked like he was having a seizure a few times. For all the antics I really don't know how much he was accomplishing, cuz surely no one was able to understand him...

The stomping antics of Trent Harrop a few years ago at Western was something else to watch.

Persin and LaFon would be my top two picks. Sometimes I think LaFon is gonna have a stroke right there on the side line.

Wheelersburg junior high boy's coach Rodney Holden really gets animated and passionate on the sidelines, a great coach and fun to watch.

Back in the hayday of the TVC there was a coach from Nelsonville-york by the name of Virgil Grandy. I think he went to Trimble schools.
Coach Grandy was animated when it was not in style, but the fans loved it. he made it as much a part of the game as the game itself! He was awesome at firing up the entire crowd; in Buchtel or Nelsonville or especially on the road. He was a classic! He was a great coach, and a coach that NY opponents loved to hate.
I saw him get into verbal scrapes with the home teams student section and fans who sat directly behind the Buckeyes bench when the Buckeyes were on the road many times. The best time was in the "NEST" at Belpre.
He had an array of shenamigams he would use to motivate his team and antagonize the opposing team and fans during the game.
Maybe in-a-way Howie Caldwell is from that mold? What I have seen of Howie is, "a war could be happening behind him, and he would not know it."
Coaching and a coaches behavior and antics are a hugh part of the atmosphere of high school basketball everywhere.

Back in the late 1950s and early 1960s, Bob Sheskey of Nelsonville was an outstanding coach. He was not wild, etc, but just the opposite. Bob would calmly call time out and slowly tell his players what they needed to. He'd then sit down and begin eating his bag of pop corn.
