I would love to see a vote by the coaches in the SE district D2-D4 on whether to seed it like they do or to do it like everyone else. A super sectional would never benefit a team that was not good. Only the top teams would benefit with a first round bye and everyone would be matched fairly and coaches bonding together to get their way would be very difficult....right now there isn't ant need to even go to the seeding meetings as they are very predictable.

I bet D2 coaches would just about be unanimous, D3 would be close to 2/3....D4 might be 50/50 or less because the current way makes several teams very happy.

I disagree with your seeding predictions, Top 3 seeds should go to ND, SHAC Champ ( WO or Fairfield) and S Webster. Just look at the past, year after year the high seed gets beat by S Webster and SHAC teams.

That being said we all know what will happen.
I agree that strength of schedule needs to be considered. But, I also think that you have to win some of those games in order to try to use that schedule for a higher seed. Besides, how well did Manchester fair against Eastern Pike last season? How well did White Oak do this year against Notre Dame. The top SOC1 schools can more than hold their own most years and I believe will prove to do so this season. Every year the SHL schools try to categorize all the teams of the league by the teams that are down that season.

That being said, this years D4 tourney will be exciting and there are several teams with a chance to win a District title. BEst of luck to all!

The SHL vs SOC 1 record over the last decade speaks for itself...it's overwhelmingly in favor of the SHL.

That doesn't matter. This is this year.

Notre Dame is far and away the easy #1 seed. I believe East, South Webster, Whiteoak and Fairfield are all very close.....East plays SW twice, EP twice and ND twice....6 very tough games. I believe SW beat them pretty well once and then East knocked them off. Fairfield, Whiteoak and South Webster will all have several more tough matchups. The top of the SOC 1 is solid...(including the top two teams in the whole district IMO)....Western, NB, Green, Clay, that's 8-0 as those teams will just knock off each other.

Whiteoak already has 5 losses and Fairfield 6....just put them at #4 and #5....SW vs Manchester in the #3 vs #6

Better watch Western they are playing much better of late if they keep it up they could sneak into that #6 spot and only need 1 win to get to the convo !

Whiteoak now 8-6

Fairfield lost by 2 to a talented Peebles team. I think they are 6-7....but IMO the 2nd or 3rd best team in this sectional.

It'll all play out.

I think it will be Notre Dame #1 and East # 2 there schedules kind of lay out for them the rest of the way. But Webster has a tuff road to go in the big SOC but the draw there record could somewhere around 12-10 letting some other teams slide in to the # 3-4 spot I think New Boston is #10, Green #9 Clay#8 Manchester #7, And Western ends up #6 just by the way the schedual a lay out I can see Western at 6-8 wins and getting the 6 spot but we will have to see a lot of ball left yet.

1.ND
2. East
3.Whiteoak
4. SW
5. Leesburg Fairfield
6. Manchester
7. Clay
8. Western
9. Green
10. New Boston

Strength of schedule has never mattered in this sectional, and won't this year either. Realistically, there are 4 teams here that could win a District Championship. SOC I is stronger this year though, so these seeds are at least justifiable unlike past years.*

Right now it'll go

1. ND
2. East
3. SW
4. WO
5. FF

The #4/#5 matchup winner would be a solid opponent for EP in the district semis.

It's also possible East steals the #1 they are 10-4 while Notre Dame is 11-3 they go head to head at East very soon this is a giant game for the Tartans and the Titans in the league standings and for the sectional draw !! HUGE , HUGE game !!!!!!

If South Webster gets the #4 in this bracket than I would rather be the #2 in the Meigs bracket. Or is it back at Wellston this year?

No it's at Meigs again. And ya I agree cause the #1 at Meigs if they win would face the winner of the 4-5 from valley which would be right now Webster ,White Oak,Fairfield or Manchester.

I think Webster gets the #3 and plays #6 Manchester and #4 White Oak plays #5 Fairfield . If I'm a SOC 1 coach that's how I would vote to avoid the better SHL teams and Webster those 4 teams seasons truly prepare them more for the tourney than the average SOC 1 schedule does . Only SOC teams that are fairly close in strength are East ( play Webster twice ) who's league has 2 games with Notre Dame and Eastern Beaver . And Notre Dame ( Played Minford and White Oak) and in league play East and Eastern Pike 2 times and Symmes 2 times. But this is my take on the draw.

Notre Dame seals the #1 seed by defeating East on the road.

ND 3 losses
East 5 losses

South Webster defeated Oak Hill

Green beat Western

That's the last team Notre Dame plays that has a snow balls chance of beating them. There schedual is supper soft from here on so your right the lock up the one . With East looseing now them Webster and White Oak battle for the 2-4 seeds. East still plays Eastern but besides them they should win out as well. Webster and White Oak because of there leagues have some tuff games to play left.

Don't count Fairfield out of a top 4 seed. They will face Whiteoak in a huge matchup and the winner will have the upper hand on winning the SHL small schools division....and that SHOULD be a top 3, but probably not.
