I'll do some research and toss out my predictions later on. I like this idea.
Piketon will get the #2.....NW will side with Lisath on his last season....the #2 is a better seed I think compared the #1. Piketon just needs to avoid Ironton, so whichever one does that until the regionals is the one I'd go after.

I heard Lisath say on the radio "Let the chips fall where they may" when it comes to the draw. Play with the cards dealt to you. In my opinion... win Friday night, your own conference would have to vote you as #1 as the Streaks will become outright Conference Champs, not sure what the relationship is between Lisath and Scarberry. Especially since one played for Ohio University and one played for Miami  .

BTW, Both #1 and #2 seed at Waverly will avoid Ironton until the Regionals. But there's so much ball to play long before that and a lot of evenly matched teams.

Who would you have at the 3 in Waverly? Peebles or NA?

I for one respect the work pfloyd puts into his rankings, so if you take his rankings, get rid of D II and D IV teams this is what D III looks like. Now I dont agree exactly with every placement, it does give you some perspective of what a super sectional would look like.

1. Ironton (14-2) Jac

2. Eastern Brown (16-2) Wav

3. Piketon (15-3) Wav

4. Minford (13-3) Jac

5. Oak Hill (15-3) Jac

6. Lucasville Valley (14-5) Jac

7. Zane Trace (12-3) Ath

8. Federal Hocking (13-5) Ath

9. Chesapeake (12-5) Jac

10. Peebles (13-5) Wav

Dont be too quick to count out Federal Hocking out of the 1or 2 seeds in Athens. Nelsonville-York still has 3 teams that beat them already left on their schedule, along with 2 teams that have good records. They could lose their last 5 easily and even fall to 4 -5.

Are they playing all three games this week? The Draw is Sunday.

Since Fed Hock and Nelsonville-York did not get their game in Saturday ... the 86-65 loss to the Buckeyes earlier in the season hangs around the Lancers neck like a big fat albatross ... no matter what happens to NY this week - they will be ranked higher than FH ...

NY will play Vinton County, Athens and Southern before the draw on Sunday ... even if they go 1-2, a (14-6) record is still good enough for the No. 2 seed (especailly after beating Wellston and Crooksville last week) ... I can almost guarantee we'll see:

1. Zane Trace
2. Nelsonville-York
3. Federal Hocking

The only reason I would put Piketon over EB is because while Piketon lost 3 games all to good teams with winning records. lost to D2 Unioto (10-7) by 4 without Zach Farmer, Lost to D4 Eastern (14-2) by 1 in Holiday Classic, and Lost to D2 Vinton County (13-3) by 2 without Colten Williams. (Total -7) Eastern Brown Lost their 2 games to D2 Hillsboro (6-12) by 9 and D4 Georgetown (16-1) by 7. (Total -16) You can say "excuses" or "argument" depends on where you're from. One thing I cannot say right now is who is the better team, because I haven't seen EB play. Common opponents EB beat Westfall by 20, Piketon beat Westfall by 23; EB beat Huntington by 14, Piketon beat Huntington by 31. (Total +20 Piketon). Does all of that matter to Coaches that vote...."NO, probably not" But it would be a good argument if both teams win out this week. Piketon will have the toughest task, Facing Zane Trace (12-3) friday then travel to Columbus Horizon (2-12) Saturday. EB will play West Union (2-16).

ironman,
i have seen both of them play. north adams is capable of beating a lot of teams but they are definitely jekyll and hyde. i think head to head north adams has won twice. but i think peebles is more consistent and deserves the better seed. a lot has to do with matchups and coming to play. i think peebles comes to play more than north adams.

I am hoping that my Trojans can win 3 games this week........get to 10-10, and just maybe avoid that #8-#9 seed. But if we end up 8 or 9, so be it.

Ironton is the team to beat in the SE Regional........two intriguing questions are........Who will be the team in the SE district that will give them the stiffest challenge?.........and will the Jackson sectional produce the regional champion for the 4th year in a row?

Eastern Brown took Ironton to overtime at the Convo last year Trojan Dave ... they have most of their players back from that team - so maybe they can give them another run for their money. who knows.

I'm just glad the district tournament is around the corner ... my 'annual' visits with Trojan Dave, Biggdogg, Ozzie are priceless!

Div. III, looks like some are shaping up into predictions, while others are making the draw very interesting. Especially in Jackson....

Chillicothe looked like the team I've been searching for all season last night. If we can capture that....I can see us playing in the District Title game. As far as D3, the only teams I've seen is Portsmouth, Zane Trace, Piketon, Adena and Ironton. Ironton looked like a college team, I think Portsmouth has upset potential, but very young, Piketon was impressive the game I watched, Zane Trace has a nice team and should advance in the Athens Sectional, and Adena struggled when I watched them, but based on the scores lately it appears there has been some improvement.
