I don't think that Shoemaker had anything (personally) to do with Rowe and Stapleton transferring in to Minford, I think they both made the choice on their own and for their own reasons. I think they seen what a special team the Falcons was going to be this year and for the next few years and came onboard. But, a winning season and a very bright future does attract transfers. Everyone wants to win and looking at what our team currently has and what we have coming up - the Falcons will be STATE bound in the next 4 years and you can take that to the bank!!!!

Well said! Any team that has a bright future attracts transfers because everyone wants to win! Look at the transfers Burg had from Minford in the days Barrick had loaded teams. He lost his talent and now no one wants to transfer there. Coach Shoemaker & his staff have done a great job with this Falcon ball club and has them playing excellent ball! Keep up the work boys! This rotation the Falcons are playing is working great! Don't change what's not broken...Good Luck Boys!

Stapleton actually is a Minford kid... left for 3 years, now returned.

As long as the talent level in D3 stays very low like it has been the past few years you may have a chance. I know of a couple Burg teams that would easily have multiple state titles if they played in the same talent pool there is now. You'll probably have to go through Portsmouth in the upcoming years. Might be some pretty good matchups in the future b/t the two

You are demonstrating a relative lack of knowledge of the game with a statement like that.

No not at all. It's the truth. Statewide, D3 basketball is incredibly weak compared to what it was in the mid 2000s. D3 saw the OJs, Bill Walker, David Lighty come through. I'd even throw in Cam Miller, Drew Spradlin, Dennis Gagai, Waginger with Ironton. Who are the big time talents now?? How many D1 college athletes are around? I know I never hear of anybody and there aren't any around here other than a couple boys from Ironton now. So tell me how I'm wrong??

Talent is what it is in D3. Minford happens to have some very talented players. I like your quote about Burg...Yeah Burg teams that don't exist anymore!
Sounds like you like living in the past which is fine, because the past couple years those Burg teams haven't existed.

No doubt Minford will have great matchups with multiple teams in the upcoming years, but they all better be ready, because the Falcons will be tough!

I don't understand how he lacks knowledge when he described it accurately. You guys are yet again talking about how great this Minford team is, and all he was saying that talent wise Division 3 is DOWN compared to years past. That's absolutely true. Look at the D1 players that came out of this area 5-6 years ago, and how many there are now: none.

Don't ride too high off a win against a D4 opponent. Remember, McBee has yet to get out of the sectional at Minford and the team you play first, Chesapeake, beat you guys.

Yea and Falcon Fury you all live in the future that doesn't exist. Look you are proud of your kids and is the future bright? Yes. You have a right to be excited and you should be. But for someone to guarantee a State Appearance when you've never even sniffed it is very BOLD. I like seeing local teams up there and hope you all do but the arrogance rubs ppl the wrong way. And ppl aren't sure why there is arrogance coming from that way. To get to state you all are going to need another kid like McCray. Gotta have a dominant big. You got him back next year but lose McBee, that will hurt. Hope their is another McCray brewing in the mix for you all!

Well obv there is talent I never said there wasn't and only ppl like you and I would know all about College prospects in depth. I'm saying that its not as good as in the past. D3 is weaker now than it was in the past. I'm not taking anything away from Minford (heaven forbid I know you all get your feelings hurt anytime someone says something negative) if D3 stays fairly weak throughout your district/region you may have a chance to make it. Quit trying to get in a peeing contest with me and just think about what I am saying. I mean realistically think about it

I'm not going to guarantee that Minford will make a state appearance, but I certainly hope they do! The Falcons need to take it one game at a time. I understand that making a statement like that may rub people wrong, but don't state that the Falcons lack talent. They have talent and deserve to have much success! There is no arrogance except the fact that our ball club has talent and has a chance to have a big run in the tournament (and a few other schools that have talent should be hyped about the possibility as well)! The Falcons do lose McBee this year, but I believe the Falcons have high expectations for Rowe, Gullion, Stapleton, and McCray. Not saying that we'll have a state title next year, but the Falcons should definitely have a good shot at the SOC and good tournament run. I am looking forward to a bright future for the Falcons!

no way does Carney from FH deserve to be on that list. He just has more bulk and size then kids hes playing against. His numbers arent even that good

Thats funny that nobody from Valley is on that list seems how Dunn shut down McCray both times they played and Jordan West is being scouted by a D1 school .....

I think it's amazing that one person knows about all of these players, especially from schools all over the state.

I think you need to take it up with some recruiting website, this has to be a copy and paste
