The only team I think you could even remotely compare to Ironton that North Adams sees is Eastern Brown (and thats stretching it). Eastern beat North Adams by 20 both times and held them in the 30's once and they scored 40 the other game. Carter could nearly do that himself, IMO.

Hope the Devils can keep it close but I don't see it

Ironton by 25
Good luck to both teams

NA plays ball stall they can keep it close as wheelersburg did.
but Ironton is just a talented team and now with the first game out of the way I think Ironton will play a little more determined and come out knowing that that no one will roll over for them.
That said Ironton by as many as 20 or as little by 8 but either way a Ironton win.

playing stall ball against ironton is a lot easier said than done. Handling the pressure of Ironton will not be an easy task for the Green Devils. If you can't handle someone getting up in you, there is no possibility of slowing the ball down. If they can handle pressure and slow the game down it will help them a lot. That being said, it will be a tough task for them. I'm sure they worked hard on handling pressure this week in practice so maybe we will see a closer game than some expect.

Ironton beat Peebles by 14 and NA beat the Indians by 23 at Peebles so it's not too far fetched to say this could be a good game. I do however see Ironton winning this one by 15-20pts. I can't see Carter or Fletcher playing a mediocre game that would get them beat.

I just dont buy into the thinking that NA wont be ready for the competition that Ironton will bring. The SHL is a knock down drag out fight into the parking lot every night. One of the toughest leagues in Southern Ohio. I havent seen Ironton, and Im really looking forward to it. Maybe its also the reason that I cant see a 20 point blow out. I just gotta think that this one is settled under 10. I would really like to see NA pull off the upset. Anything can happen at this time of the year.

Ironton is the real deal. Wheelersburg slowed the game to a crawl and still got beat by 10. There my be 2 or even 3 players from a team that match up with some of their players but no one in SE Ohio matches up with them as a whole. The only way they don't make it out of the region is if they beat themselves.

I have to agree with my Peebles friends. I was at the Ironton-Peebles game, and it remained very competitive for a very long time. I do not think the Peebles game was Ironton's best defensive effort, as the Tigers seemed to get caught up in a run and shoot affair that particular evening. Both Justice and Arey were sinking a lot of threes. But it does give this Ironton fan some pause to think that North Adams took Peebles 2 out of 3.

Any high school team can get shook in the tournament if things around them start wobbling - typical shots don't fall, officials make a few strange calls, the other team gains confidence. To make a Final Four, a team has to be mentally tough. I think this group of Ironton players may have lacked that mental toughness in years past. So far this year, however, I must say that the Tigers have progressed in this measure. I have watched them very closely. I have lookled for those cracks and fissures. But this team has passed all the tests and more. So far.

Looking forward to seeing how they react to the next challenge against the Green Devils come Saturday night.

If the tigers come to play they can't be stopped! If they believe they're good and let people blow smoke up their a$$ they can be beat on any night.. I truthfully believe that this group has been together to long for anything less than rings. I think from all I've read that if they win it all they'd be the only team ever in southern Ohio to win the diii title!! Lets get this men one at a time!!!
