I think this will be another good Convo game. ND is very good and Eastern is feeling good about themselves and way easier trip.

Hopefully Eastern isn't just happy about getting to the Convo. This isn't the time for a let down. If they don't come out focused they could be in trouble. I think they believe they can win and I look for a good ball game

Last year In Notre Dames loss they couldn't shoot a lock of the floor mounted goals . There only buckets came off transition . They were in the game late and had a mismatch with Tyler in the post but the whole 4th quarter the boys kept shooting from the perimeter instead of feeding the post. Tyler had a 5'10 kid trying to guard him and he had the kid pinned deep in the paint the whole quarter. But that was last year !! This team is as good as last years but the guards play so much smarter than they did last year. Look for them to play what ever style they need to to win. In Eastern Pikes last game against them at Notre Dame I saw them mature right in front of us. Good luck Titans I hope you win and my Eastern Pike boys hold up our end so we can get to play the rubber match !!

I believe ND can be beat if someone can match their intensity. They go balls to the wall the whole game. And, as far as being better lately its because they have been able to keep kids into High School, something they werent able to do before the last few years. They are in top physical shape, and dont let up. I would be willing to bet that they scored 75% of their points this year on the break. Slow them down, and make them play a half court offense, and you will have a chance. Eastern may be a team that can do that, dont know much about them.

I think Clay had the right game plan to beat Notre Dame, they just didn't have the right personnel. Probably 75% of the Titans points were layups off turnovers by the sophomore guards of Clay. I watched a very close game for nearly 3 quarters until the constant pressure was too much for the young guards. This game exposed the defense of the center for ND, the Schmidt kid for Clay scored at will, putting up a career high 25 (I believe) against the Titans. Coach Mader is a good coach, he gets maximum effort from his players, but I agree he has a way to go before he is Coaches Barrick-Persin's class.

I will add this about our fine boys hoops coach, of course a guy ( any guy) in his 3rd year isnt a Lisath or a Persin or Barrick... those guys have been around forever .... The bottom line Matt is doing things RIGHT .. he is building a program , he is very attentive to the JV and JR high kids AND , a big big huge thing is his staff is fantastic .. As a whole Matt , Dan Schmidt , Joe Smith and Tiny Anderson ?? what a collection of solid hoops junkies . And the work ethic of the crew is great ... every sunday pretty much year round .. OPEN gym allowing the young kids to mix it up with older faster guys , and the upgrades to the gym , the locker room , the way the athletes are treated ( ant there is more , I'll stop there) ... I'll just say we are very happy to have Coach Mader ! game day I'm stuck at work but GO TITANS ! MD

IT'S ALMOST TIME! Gonna be an awesome match up tonight and hope that tonight's game is a good one. Titans have to really get on the boards tonight and limit second chance points. I believe ND has some of the finest guards around and can run the court well. Can Eastern Meigs hang with the Titans Defensive and Offensive explosion for 4 quarters, very few teams can and have?

Matt Mader is a fine coach and an even better person. The Notre Dame community is lucky to have a guy like him working with their youth.

Notre Dame won by 1. Great effort by Eastern. We were by 5 with about 30 seconds left and shot ourselves in the foot

What happened did Easyern miss foul shots or just turn it over for quick lay ups ?

Had a turnover on an inbounds pass under notre dames bucket. Had a bad turnover at half court after a huge stop. Carnahan fouled out with under a minute left. Notre dame did hit a huge 3 to cut te lead to 1. But it was Easterns game to lose and we lost it. Great effort by notre dame on not giving up. I'm not taking anything away from notre dame. They will be your district champs

Your correct. But it's hard to beat a team 3 times in a season. I agree they have to be a 8-10 point favorite but Notre Fame seems to struggle scoreing at the Convo for some reason.

Yes, they will play sciotoville east. The 3 schools mentioned above are on the other side of the district bracket.

Eastern tried to run at first, and after turning the ball over many times trying to do it, they slowed it down and stayed in the game for the first half. Then they went on a 12-2 run to start the 3rd qtr to take a 6 point lead. The game was theirs to win, but they couldn't make the same shots they did during that run. Nevertheless they still led by 5 when Cooper made a 3 pt play to cut it to 40-38 with 35 sec left. Then after Eastern scored two, Cooper hit a trey to cut it to 42-41 with 27 sec left. On the inbounds pass, Eastern tied too hard to get it to Carnahan, and it was picked off under the basket and Carnahan used his 5th foul(all 5 in the 2nd half) to keep Lewis from making the bunny to take the lead, but he made both FTs for the 43-42 lead anyway with 22 sec left. Eastern had two good shots on their succeeding possession but they wouldn't fall and Mader got the rebound with 3 sec left to win the game for Notre Dame.
