Re: Pioneer Valley 13-14
Cuts are bound to happen but sports won't be one of them, that was made clear at the athletic banquet. We draw good crowds anyway and coach does a crap ton of fundraiser stuff so I'd say basketball could take care of itself either way. The other sports would be the ones in trouble.
I agree, Lang did a good job guarding Wiech, second game this year was a good one, I think Jonathon had around 20. I would venture to guess that missing Smith on the offensive end and asking more of Lang on that end will take some what of a toll. You don't want to risk getting your best offensive player in foul trouble so he may not even guard the best player next year. Caldwell's other guards will be tough to stop as well. Clark is going to be special, Harding is a lights out shooter and Heller/Carpenter are terrific athletes. If they get something out of their big kids and keep getting better like they did at the end of the year I think they can be really good. Hope they are able to do it. League will be tough again next year.

Seth Legrean will avg around 17 next season kid loves basketball. Why does River want out? Did they realize they just had there best team in 20 years and still could get a league title? It would be almost impossible for River to exit right away because scheduling. Go make a league with Bridgeport , Shadyside, Bellaire, and Beallsville because trust me know one will miss you. If Trail bolts it will be for a league like ECOL or MVL not to follow River. Why does River even need a league besides OVAC?

One day you will realize how unimportant the PVC is to everyone besides yourself.

Re: Pioneer Valley 13-14
You really have no idea what you are talking about. If River is getting out of the conference, it would most likely have everything to do with the financial issues of the district. Not your stupid little conference. Not winning %, district trips, or any other of your complete nonsense. You are as clueless as ever when it comes to why River would be leaving the league.
Re: Pioneer Valley 13-14
We all know why River would want to leave the league......lack of talent coming up.

Re: Pioneer Valley 13-14
Thats fine. Take your shoots. River loses 7 sr.s, and next year is a rebuild not a reload, but I give coach Romick 1 year and they will beat your cadets and Noles. Its not gonna be a lack of talent. Its gonna be better in the future than it has been in the past. This group graduating won 3 sect. and a district. River Basketball has developed a good program and may want to play a better schedule than what they have now. Picking up Ferry(went to reg.) would be making thier schedule weaker.RIGHT!!!

8 people....impressive.
Central is going to have the same problems as River when the upcoming levy gets dumped. No one in that county is going to be able to afford to play sports.

Pay to play is coming back. Like $300 a sport. I'm sure that will cut the roster. Maybe a few JV teams will cancel in the future. 1 game a night. I predict half of the teams will have to do this.

The people need to just vote for the levy........no matter how pissed off people are about the way things have been done in the past and no matter what they think of the school board and superintendent.....THE KIDS ARE WHO IS GOING TO SUFFER....and I'm not just talking about the sports aspect of things either.
Re: Pioneer Valley 13-14
Buckeye Trail will be the best team in the PVC next year. They return most of their kids and will be surprisingly deep off the bench.
