Re: Hiland vs Southeastern 3/15 Sweet 16
Southeastern will get beat bad just like SP got beat bad by Fairland...Good run Southeastern just be happy you were in the weaker bracket in sectionals and district or you wouldn't have made it this far.......Cinderalla gets an old fashion AZZ whoopin!!! ... This isn't something I just came up with...I said that side of bracket was very weak when they came out....I was correct...if Ironton hadn't blowed a 9 point lead to start 4th quarter there would have been 3 OVC teams in district finals and Southeastern would have gotten beat then for sure....Ironton would beat Minford 8 out of 10 games....OVC was stronger than the SOC 2 no doubt....

I think you're a little bitter mrwonderful. SE had to play the state finalist of 2016 in Lynchburg Clay. (awhh but they graduated people) you don't forget how to play basketball. Coach can still coach and still returned great players. So if you think that SE had a cakewalk, even though they beat the team that made it out of the region last year, you're delusional. SE has had a great run. I wouldn't take that away from then. To quote Donald Trump, "Sad!"
Re: Hiland vs Southeastern 3/15 Sweet 16
Saw Hiland three times this year. They play in an outstanding league that has 3 regional teams (it would have been 5 but the two other teams were beaten by other league teams in district championship).
They are not tall, i think their tallest player might be 6'2". but they defend 94 feet and they love to get out in transition. They are a team of runs, if you blink they could've scored 10 pts without anyone knowing. love to play fast.
Coach Schlabach is TREMENDOUS.
Two kids that you'll learn the names real quick, Chris Kline (pg) and Turner Horn.
Good luck to both teams.

At Berlin Hiland they know 3 things.
How to light candles, how to play baseball and they can shoot the rock.
Hoping for Southeastern but I would predict Hiland by 15.

Re: Hiland vs Southeastern 3/15 Sweet 16
Southeastern starts 3 seniors, a junior, and a freshman. The bigs are both about 6'3/6'4. They mix defenses and have been using a variety of depth throughout the tournament run.
All season, I had said that I thought that they were really well coached even without getting wins. I think that they are likely overmatched tonight, but anything can happen in the one and done season. They are playing with a ton of confidence and believe that they can win and that is a big step forward for the Panthers.

I'd take a guess Southeastern has become the most popular team on preps. Go Southeastern
Re: Hiland vs Southeastern 3/15 Sweet 16
Hoping Coach Slaughter hangs around with the SE program. From what I've seen, he's a very good coach, and very involved from HS down to the youth program. SE has a lot of talent heading his way, but it's going to take time to get the program back to where it was under Coach Jordan. Good luck to the Panthers tonight!

Re: 3/15 Hiland vs Southeastern Sweet 16
Southeastern's district title was the 16th in school history. The 16 titles is 3rd in the SE district all time, only topped by Wheelersburg's 18 and Portsmouth's 37.

13-5 Hiland after 1. SE with 7 turnovers...the same amount that they had in the first Q against Oak Hill.
