Does anyone have a list of Logan basketball coaches from the late 1960's to present? I played for Bob Combs/ Ken Insani and after I left, I lost track of the basketball program for many years.

I researched for three months and updated all the basketball records in 2006 and got a list of coaching wins so I'll go off of my own memory, but here goes

In the mid 1980s to 1988 Kirk Hardman
Several SEOAL Championships, AP #5 in 1987

1989-2005??? Gary Swinehart
SEOAL CHAMPIONS, took only team to ever reach regionals in 2000

2005??-2012 Keith Myers
Former player at Logan, could never get over the hump but solid coach

2012-present
John Helber
20 years as Logan JV coach before getting varsity job and this season will be his best team to date

Thanks LG ... I do remember a few others, Harry Westfall (long time ago) a big guy named Adkins (before Combs), then in the '70's didn't Mark Shaw coach? Also, Scott Fitzgerald (good HS player at Athens under McAfee), coached a few years. I thought NOREPLY would know them all, since he's older than dirt.

Some info on former coaches -- javadt...... the Adkins was Brooks Adkins. He became a school administrator in some Cleveland suburbs. I had dinner with him one night up here talking business. He lived a couple of houses up from me on North Walnut St. when I grew up. Anyone know what happened to Ken Insani ? Knew him too and most did not know he was going blind. Had a serious problem. Lost track of him. I knew Harry Westfall and his son Bill who was a pretty good athlete at Logan. I coached Mark Shaw while at Logan in baseball.

Never mind about Ken Insani. He died in 2009 after a 38 year teaching /coaching career, retiring in 2001. Won a state basketball title at Clarksburg Notre Dame in West Virginia, his home town.

Ken Insani started at Logan as the reserve basketball & assistant football coach. I played bb for him in the 10th grade. We won 75% of our games that year. In the 7th, 8th & 9th grade we never won a single game. He was a good coach and well liked. A big guy that stood over a foot taller than Bob Combs.

Some of you may remember Bob Marcum, who was my position coach when I played football at Logan. He had a long career as a coach and then college AD. Was AD at Kansas ., South Carolina ( they had a drug scandal down there while he was there), UMass and finally Marshall where he retired from. His nickname was Kayo ( he was a 250 lb RB at Marshall, lol)

Those where the good old days......shoveled the snow off to play ball. Summer time seemed like we would play from 9 to 9......Javagt lived across from the school and would have his meal brought to him...lol

Thats correct. With all the research I did I only was able to attain Hardman and Swinehart's records.
