Any word from the meeting on who the hire might be? I agree you would think this position would have many applicants.

Don't believe they are done with the interview process.sportslifelove wrote:Any word from the meeting on who the hire might be? I agree you would think this position would have many applicants.

Very surprised this job hasn't been filled yet as other schools have already filled their openings and summer basketball is quickly approaching.
Great school, great facilities, there should be a long list of people that applied.
Anyone have some names of people that applied? Shocked this has been so under-the-radar.

Hey BBallin, maybe The General would like a crack at the head coaching gig. Was pretty successful at the Jr. High level!

Have heard that the S. Webster ball coach has put in for this job. Any chance he'll get it?

Finally a name has been leaked!JuanMorales wrote:Have heard that the S. Webster ball coach has put in for this job. Any chance he'll get it?
He seems to know what he's doing, South Webster has been pretty solid the last four years. The question is, why is he wanting out of South Webster? It's common knowledge that SW lost the majority of their talent and aren't expected to be good for 2-3 years, is he leaving because of that?

Re: GAHS HEAD COACH?
Not a huge list there. Does anyone know if this is who applied or if it's just a "short list" of the best candidates? Harrison has to be the front runner with Steve Ater (south webster coach) right behind him. Question is do they want to try something new and go with Ater? Or go back to the old coach... I'm not familiar with Ater's resume before SW, but I know they've experienced a lot of success in his years there. Does anyone know anything else about him? Where did he coach before? I agree with what was said before, about why he would leave SW. I think that's a good job, talent or no talent, they still keep basketball number one there each and every year... Not to mention the fact of being locked in to D 4 where they've basically been the team to beat in the last 10 years. Maybe knows something we don't know?? Anyways, I think GAHS has a tough call on this one. Please keep us updated Gallia folks.Who9Dey wrote:Boys interviewers

Re: GAHS HEAD COACH?
Would hate to see Coach Ater leave as he has been a great coach for South Webster over the past 4 years, but 4-5 years has been about the shelf life for Webster basketball coaches over the years. I've heard differing stories as to why he may be looking elsewhere (lack of support from within, wants challenge of D2 job, etc.), but regardless, Webster would be losing a hell of a coach if he does leave. I wish Coach Ater luck if he gets the Gallia job, but would welcome him back even if he doesn't, as the job he has done over the past 4 years at Webster lets him stay as long as he wants in my opinion.*

Wholly_Shnikeys out of curiosity why would Harrison be the front runner? If you look at coaching resumes Ater is the only one with any head coaching success.
